Chapter 271 - 271 Talking about feelings
271: Talking about feelings 271: Talking about feelings Professor He smiled, almost as if Caishen’s bitter tone didn’t affect her at all.
The words basically bounced off her back as she continued on with her query into him.
She had no plans to change her modus operandi just for him.
“You don’t seem to like me very much CEO Zhang.” She said.
“Why is that?” The door to Caishen’s office slid open and Biming and a secretary walked in with a cup of milk tea and some almond cookies as requested by the professor.
The two left quickly after delivering these items and they hurried about it because they noticed the icy environment in the office.
Professor He picked up the cup of tea and saucer and she took a small sip while looking at Caishen.
He had not stopped looking at her either and he noticed the exact moment when her eyes widened after tasting the milk.
He knew then that Gu Biming had given her some of his good milk.
“Damn wasteful Biming!” He muttered.
Didn’t that guy know how to be economical?
Alix’s milk powder at home was already in half.
Too many people in the family were requesting for it constantly.
In fact, elder Tai was distributing some to his old friends with health problems.
According to nanny Wang, drivers kept picking up milk, beef Jerky and ice cream as if their house was a factory which produced those things.
“Mr.
Zhang, you haven’t answered my question.” Professor He put down the cup and she asked for Caishen’s attention.
“Isn’t the answer obvious?” He replied.
Professor He smiled knowingly and she said, “I am a psychologist Mr.
Zhang, I guide you to the answers, I don’t give them to you directly.” “I am not your client.” Caishen leaned back in his chair and crossed his arms.
“You are my clients husband.” She stated.
“The reason why I used to take on one client a time is because I don’t just help them, I help the entire family.
If I help your wife and she heals from her traumas while you still suffer from yours then how long do you suppose it will be until your trauma becomes her trauma?” Caishen clenched his jaw.
“I have met many men like you, rich, influential and powerful.
Most, do not like to talk about their feelings however their spouses, children and others around them feel and experience discomfort in different ways as a result of this.
You, for example.” She opened her bag and brought out a magazine, an old one.
She flipped to a page that featured an image of Caishen, back when he was not a paraplegic.
She held it up and read a line, “The beginning of the youthful and magnetic CEO Zhang Caishen’s era.” Caishen clenched his fist and stared at her coldly.
“It was this same magazine that printed an article which said, the end of Zhang Caishen’s era.” Professor He put down the magazine and looked at Caishen with a neutral expression on her face.
“You must have felt something when you read it.
Millions of people run with that title on the internet, making it trend while you were suffering unimaginable pain and fighting for your life.” She leaned forward and asked.
“How did that make you feel?” He didn’t respond, just stared at her silently as if he was a rock.
Professor He was not new to this response and she moved along.
“Alright then, ignoring that.
Your current condition.
You went from being perfectly healthy to relying on a wheelchair and assistance from others to get around.
How does that make you feel?
What do you think your wife feels about it?” She received the exact same response from him, silence.
Professor He, smiled and said, “Last question.
Your father has recently resurfaced, alive and well.
Even though it’s great news, surely there must be a disturbance in your family.
You must have feelings about this, positive or negative.
What are you feeling?” “You have been digging into me.” He said unhappily.
“Just as you dug into me.
Let’s not pretend like you didn’t do a deep dive into me Mr.
Zhang.
It’s actually expected of a man in your position.” She didn’t deny and she shrugged.
“I do not just take on any clients Mr.
Zhang and you know that I haven’t taken on a client in years.
You are not the first wealthy individual to offer me a lot of money to help someone.
I have been turning all of them away and recommending other doctors.
The only reason I came is because of those mysterious crystalline pills.
I passed by the hospital as you said and indeed the man that was in the coma is awake.
Doctors can’t explain his mysterious recovery and his mother has clammed up, claiming she has no idea how he recovered.
Oh, she mentioned a song.
I will be taking on your wife as a client but I will speak to everyone in your family if necessary.
It’s not a must that they accept my help but I recommend it for the sake of my main client.” Having heard the only response he desired, Caishen finally moved.
He had documents on his table which he picked up and brought to her.
“I have some documents for you to sign.
The standard NDA, I am sure that you are used to this already.
I have included a strict clause about recording the sessions, it is forbidden.
I would actually prefer if you didn’t keep any documents either, a notebook maybe and shorthand will be preferred if you must take down notes on whatever you observe.” ”””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””” Alix lugged her freshly awaken but still heavy and sleepy body out of the car at an orphanage that had a large sign outside of it’s short fence, reading Hopeful children’s home.
This was a rather lovely three storied building, the only one within the confines of the fence and little compound.
It did not look as old as Alix had pictured in her mind because she read online that the orphanage had been in existence for twenty years now.
It was quiet, and she guessed that all or most of the children had gone to school and those that were around were inside.
She paused and took a sip of water first, followed by a coffee candy to get an energy rush.
Like that wasn’t enough, she added a small sip from an energy potion that she got from the game.
While she was doing that, Bi Cang and uncle Ju took out the items she had bought for the orphanage, mostly light blankets, a few toys and some snacks.
She looked at the items and a frown formed on her face.
They looked pitifully few, not enough and they mocked her.
A strange feeling of guilt filled her heart and she almost told uncle Ju to start the car so that they could go back and buy more.
“Just write a check.
They probably need money more than the plastic toys and plushies.
To children here, toys are the least of their worries.
Food, clothes, books, stationery and other things like that are more important.” the system told her.
She decided to take that advice and advanced forward, ready to meet the two brothers.
What do you think?
