Chapter 2123: 3 Day Progress

After 3 days of practice, they have made a lot of progress. Thanks to the 10 liters of energy water, their spiritual power has increased from 10 to 11.

The rest of the progress that they have achieved is due to their hard work. Aegis Shield increased in mastery by 1% every day. It achieved 3% of progress in 3 days despite being the least divine ability they worked on.

Most of the progress made by Aegis Shield is because they maintained it for three days straight without stopping. This is not impressive alone. But when it is considered that they maintained their shield while practicing different other abilities, then it becomes an impressive achievement.

It is an impressive achievement because humans have only one consciousness and can't multitask well with that single consciousness even if they have three souls.

A normal human would find it difficult to maintain the Aegis shield for three days while practicing other divine abilities. This achievement on their part is why, even though they didn't actively practice Aegis Shield, it still made some progress.

The divine ability with the least progress is the Sever ability. This is because they spent very little time practicing it.

They only practiced Sever occasionally. During the time that they did, they worked on prolonging the effect time of the ability, not its range.

They ought to be practicing on increasing the range of the ability so that it can cut deeper and they can use it without touching their targets. Unfortunately, they don't have the spiritual energy to dedicate to that.

The silver lining is that training the duration of the effect and trying to make the red light produced in their hand by the Sever ability also works to help them gain better control of the ability, which indirectly increases the range of the ability.

It is just that the rate of progress is slower when they train the duration. But since all they try to do is try to keep the red light in their hands for as long as possible, they don't need to spend much spiritual energy on the training.

Most of their time was spent working on the Bondage ability. Their work made the Bondage ability reach 9% mastery in 3 days.

This is a lot of progress in 3 days. At the rate of their progress, they will soon reach 10%. When they do, they will have achieved initial mastery of the ability and will be able to double the number of Marks of Bondage that they can make and maintain in total.

They didn't spend much time on practicing the Mental Probe ability. Just like the Aegis Shield and Sever ability, what they did was activate it and try to maintain it for as long as possible.

They only used the passive ability of the Mental Probe ability, so it didn't cost them much spiritual energy to practice. This also meant that they didn't make much progress in it either. The 56% mastery that they have in it is the product of their hard work in the future.

10% mastery is the first step of mastery, which is also called initial mastery. 20% is the second step, 50% is the third step, and 100% is the final step.

Mastery represents control over the divine ability and the divine flesh. Their mastery of 56% of the Mental Probe divine ability is why they can extend the range of their Mental Probe from 10 meters to 15 meters.

They had a spiritual power of 10 units, so their maximum range to interact with the minds of others with the ability should have been 10 meters. But they have a good control of their divine ability and were able to extend that range by more than 50%.

Of course, now that their spiritual power is 11 units. Their normal range has changed to 11 meters, while their mastery of the ability can extend that to 17 meters.

Spiritual power is the main determinant of the power of a divine ability. But mastery of that ability is also very important.

Another example of this is the Sever ability. Even though the ability can cut nearly anything, its initial range with a spiritual power of 10 units is 1cm.

A cut of the depth of 1 cm is unlikely to kill someone if not placed in the right spot, like the neck.

It can still be dangerous if a killer grabs a hold of a target tightly and squeezes before activating the ability. But it is always best that the ability has a longer range and depth so that it can cut deeper.

If they can increase their spiritual power to 20 units, the range of the ability will increase to 2cm. But if they can master the ability completely, the range will double by 100% to 4cm.

An injury of 4cm is the maximum lethality of a rank 1 killer. This is enough to nearly decapitate someone when their neck is gripped tightly.

Even if the neck doesn't come loose from the body completely, the arteries and veins in the neck and the spine will surely be damaged severely.

This kind of lethality is barely possible with just 2cm depth of Sever. But its power can be doubled with complete mastery of the skill.
