Gravity Mage with Level-Up System

Chapter 1373: Bookstore Owner Martin

From MC's Perspective:

At the main street, I began to wait for the aircab. Then I realized I wasn't wearing a mask. Before any commotion could occur, I took the mask out and put it on my face.

Not long after, the aircab arrived. After entering it, I told the driver to reach the City Square. Hearing that, the middle-aged driver turned around to look at me.

For a second, I thought I was exposed. Then he continued to stare at me. Then I realized I was wearing the magic robe of the Silver Tower as well.

"What is it?" I asked.

The middle-aged man was startled. He thought of something before asking, "Young man, are you from the Silver Tower?"

Hearing that, I raised my eyebrows in surprise.

"Did he mistake me for office staff?" I thought.

Then I nodded to him.

The next second, the middle-aged man's face brightened.

"Do you know Vincent Carey?"

"Can I get a picture with him?" the driver asked back-to-back questions.

I felt glad that I was wearing a mask. Otherwise, I think it would have been impossible to go outside alone.

"He must be practicing. Can you go to the destination? I'm getting late," I replied.

"Oh!"

"I apologize," the driver said before starting to drive.

Swoosh!

The car hovered in the air before heading toward the City Square. It didn't take long to reach the City Square. After arriving at the destination, I stepped outside and paid the fare to the driver.

The next second, when I turned around, I was greeted by a bustling street. The vibrant crowd was everywhere. Undoubtedly, everyone here was wizards. It was the first time for me to see this many people above Magic Level 6.

I suppressed the shock in my heart and started looking for the antique shop. While looking for the shop, I was also observing the crowd.

If I took my mask off here, a huge commotion might occur. I could hear my name mentioned by people several times.

It meant people were still talking about my duel. I shook my head before looking for the shop. Not long after following the end of the street, I saw a shop with wooden architecture.

This shop was different from the other glass buildings and modern architecture. I arrived in front of the entrance and saw the shop's name. It was called "Brother's Collection."

Upon seeing the unique shop name, I decided to explore it. Then I walked into the shop. An old book smell assaulted my nostrils. My eyes flickered with interest.

One of my shortcomings was a lack of knowledge about the world. Now the place appeared to be a bookstore. I thought I could spend time here to gain more knowledge about the world, especially about the Mage Union.

"Young man, do you need something?" An old voice greeted me from behind.

Hearing that, I collected my thoughts and turned around to look at the person. He was a white-haired old man of similar height to me. I wasn't going to underestimate anyone.

"Hello, mister. I was just looking for an antique shop, but your shop name attracted me, so I came in to look around," I replied to him.

The old man's eyes flickered. He showed an interesting smile in response because he saw through the mask. He recognized the young man.

"I didn't expect to meet the new celebrity of the Magic City here," the old man let out a chuckle. He chose not to expose the kid.

"Well, young man, my name is Martin. I'm the owner of the bookstore. People call me Brother Martin. You can address me as Old Man Martin," he said.

"So it's shop owner Martin. I'm Vince," I lied to him.

The old man's smile widened in response. He felt that the kid was interesting.

He then asked, "Well, my shop is not an antique shop, but I'm interested in antiques as well. Can you tell me what item you are going to sell?"

Hearing that, I was stunned. Since the old shop owner was interested, I thought there was no harm in showing it to him.

Then I took the antique clock outside and showed it to him. Seeing the round wooden clock with a black and gold pattern, the old man was taken aback first.

He usually liked wooden type antiques because they suited his bookstore. The old man's eyes flashed with a gleam. He then looked around and found a modern digital clock on the wall.

Old Man Martin suddenly felt it did not fit with all the books around. In contrast, he thought the old antique would fit perfectly.

He then looked towards Vincent Carey.

He asked, "Young man Vince, I don't know whether you are willing to sell it to me, but I think the antique clock is perfect for my bookstore."

"Once I mount it on the wall, it will change the whole vibe of the bookstore," he added.

Hearing that, I felt it was a good deal. I was looking for the antique shop to sell it anyway. Since the old man had asked, it was better to sell it to him.

"Okay," I replied.

"Good! Good," Old Man Martin uttered twice.

"How much do you want?" he then asked.

Hearing that, I shook my head and replied, "I'm not sure about its exact value."

"Then let me make the price. How about 10,000 Super Grade Mana Stones?" Old Man Martin replied.

"10,000 Super Grade Mana Stones," I thought.

I was expecting at least 2,000 in my mind, but I didn't expect him to value it higher. But I liked the deal.

"Let's make the deal," I said with a smile.

"Ha…Ha…Ha…, good," Old Man Martin said with a laugh.

Then he accepted the old antique clock and went to his desk.

I waited for him to bring the money.

About a few minutes later,

The old man returned with a small storage container in his hand. Seeing that, I knew it was the same product used to store mana stones.

"Here, check it for yourself." After saying that, Old Man opened the container. Then I checked the mana stones inside.

After making sure the number was right, I put them inside my storage bracelet.
