Esper Harem in the Apocalypse

Chapter 1064: Winged Creature

Rudy prepared himself as the glowing orb approached Rudy at high speed. What was it and why was it attacking them?

Rudy was curious, which is why he couldn't go all out and annihilate the orb. He wanted answers and for that, he had to make sure he didn't kill it.

As Rudy pulled his hand back and formed a fist, the orb suddenly disappeared with a flash. It was as if the connection of the screen was suddenly cut off.

"The… fuck..?" Rudy raised his brow and glanced around as he scanned the area.

'What is that thing?'

BOOM!

Out of nowhere, the orb crashed onto Rudy from the sky.

BOOM!

It emitted a powerful wave as it crashed, destroying the surrounding area, including trees and the ground. Dirt and smoke covered the area, but the glow of the orb didn't vanish and kept emitting waves, as though it was pulsating.

When the dirt finally settled, Rudy was seen holding the orb in his hand, completely unscathed.

It wasn't the orb that caused the damage to the surrounding; it was Rudy who mistakenly released his aura.

The glow of the orb was emitting from the gaps of Rudy's fingers as it tried to escape. He looked at the orb and muttered, "Got you."

Rudy pinched the orb with his finger and thumb and inspected it from the sides.

"What is this thing? It feels like it's alive…"

Of course, it was out of Rudy's comprehension to even think that a rock hard and heavy object could be alive. Not only was the orb powerful, he could penetrate through anything if it wanted.

'It can easily cut through anything, so how come the car was alright after it was hit?' Rudy wondered.

Rudy walked to the side of the car and searched for the door, which he had punched out. Then, he looked at the spot where the orb was hit and it had actually passed through the door.

'So that means… I… saved… us? No… this power. My power saved us. I didn't do it.' Rudy shook his head as he thought crossed his mind, "Can it control me?"

The orb had begun to vibrate in Rudy's palm as though it was about to explode.

He raised the orb to his eye level and asked, "Who are you, and why did you attack me?"

Rudy waited for a few seconds, expecting an answer, but all he was met with was silence. He realized he looked stupid, expecting something from an orb.

"I should crush it." Rudy tightened his grip on the orb and prepared to crush it, as it was a useless thing to him.

However, just as Rudy was about to turn the orb into ash, he sensed something powerful approaching him.

Usually, when he would send something, his ears would twitch in response, but not only his ears were twitching, they were producing a high pitch ringing sound, as though they were trying to alert him.

Rudy didn't have to scan around to look for the source, he already knew where he should be looking.

Into the sky!

When Rudy looked up, he saw the sky being covered by an enormous pair of wings. One wing was big enough to cover the entire forest.

'If that thing lands, it will destroy everything.'

However, by the time the creature got close, its size slowly decreased.

Under the vast, star-studded canopy of the night sky, an eastern black dragon descended with mesmerizing grace into a shadowy forest. Its obsidian scales caught the moonlight, transforming the creature into a shimmering specter of power and elegance. As its enormous wings unfurled and sliced through the air, they emitted a deep, resonant hum that reverberated through the silent woods, sending a thrill down the spine of anyone fortunate enough to witness the arrival.

Its eyes, burning with an ancient mystical fire, pierced the darkness, casting an eerie, otherworldly glow that danced across the gnarled trunks of the trees. The very air seemed to tremble as it landed, talons digging into the earth with a silent promise of strength and wisdom beyond mortal understanding.

The forest that was serene whispers and gentle rustling until now, held its breath in the dragon's presence. Leaves rustled in a hushed reverence, and the stars above shone brighter, as if paying homage to this magnificent creature. The celestial light bathed the scene in an unearthly glow, heightening the sense of magic and fantasy that permeated the air. The dragon's landing was a moment of breathtaking awe, a fusion of raw power and ethereal beauty that left even Rudy speechless.

And when it landed, it was as big as the cliff.

"A… dragon…?" Rudy's reaction wasn't like what one would have upon seeing a dragon for the first time. But nonetheless, he forgot everything for a few seconds and watched the dragon in awe.

He only saw and read about dragons in comics and games— although the mention of mystical and fantasy creatures in the apocalypse was widely used, most claimed it was false. Hence, it had become a conspiracy theory by the time the apocalypse ended.

Suddenly, a soft, otherworldly light began to envelop the creature. The dragon's enormous wings folded gently against its body as the deep, resonant hum of its presence grew softer. The scales that once armored its powerful form began to recede, melting seamlessly into smooth, alabaster skin. The creature's formidable claws retracted, fingers elongating and refining into delicate human hands. The long, serpentine tail shortened, disappearing entirely, while its majestic, reptilian head morphed into a more human visage, yet retaining a mystical, ethereal beauty.

Eyes that once burned with an ancient, mystical fire now shone with a deep, soulful intelligence. As the transformation progressed, the dragon's form grew smaller and more slender, taking on the unmistakable shape of a human woman. The shimmering scales morphed into intricate, elegant patterns on her skin, reminiscent of the dragon's former armor.

Finally, the transformation completed, and she stood there, a stunningly beautiful woman with an air of otherworldly grace. Her long, flowing hair was as black as the dragon's scales, cascading down her back like a waterfall of midnight. She wore a gown that seemed to be woven from the night itself, dark and shimmering with hints of silver that caught the moonlight, echoing the dragon's sleek, majestic appearance. The patterns of her gown mimicked the intricate designs of her former scales, a testament to her true nature.

As she opened her eyes, the same mystical fire glowed within them, now tempered with human warmth and wisdom. She took a deep breath, her presence both powerful and serene, embodying the strength and grace of the dragon she once was.

Rudy gulped down nervously, but not because he was scared; he was baffled to see a dragon transforming into a human so beautiful that made his heart flutter.

The girl looked at the orb in Rudy's hand and then locked her eyes with him.

"..." Rudy stared back at her, unable to comprehend what to do next.

Obviously, he would have attacked her had he sensed hostility. Not to mention, the dragon also had a dozen opportunities to attack Rudy, but it didn't.

As they stared at each other, the dragon girl got on her knees and bowed to Rudy. She placed her hand on her chest and calmly uttered, "It is an honor to meet you, O~ Lord."
