Esper Harem in the Apocalypse

The car rolled down a few times as he fell down the cliff.

BANG!

Although the airbags had opened on the first impact, that wasn't enough for the car that was rolled a dozen times at such a force.

When the car reached the bottom, it was upside down and completely crushed. Rudy couldn't feel his body anymore, but he was conscious. He slowly opened his eyes and saw his leg hanging in front of his face.

Then, he glanced to his left and saw Eric unconscious. His body also looked disproportionate, but still intact, unlike Rudy.

'What the fuck happened?'

That was his first thought, which was natural under the condition they were in.

His body took a few seconds to repair itself, but the car's parts had penetrated his body, which was making the regeneration process slow.

Rudy used his teeth to take out the metal parts from his shoulder. Once his one hand was fully healed, punched the side and got out of the car.

He fell out with his legs severed and the other hand still stuck somewhere on the door side.

"FUCK!" He yelled out loud.

He pulled out his other hand forcedly as the blood spritzed on his face. Then he waited for his body to regenerate fully.

After about a minute, his body was as good as new, with no wounds or even marks— although his clothes were torn completely and he was naked from chest to all bottom.

When Rudy looked at the car, he couldn't believe his eyes. It wasn't even one third of its size. He then looked up at the cliff and kept looking. It was hundreds of meters tall.

"Fucking hell!"

Rudy rushed to the driver's side and carefully pulled out the car parts from the surroundings. Since the first impact was from Rudy's side, Eric had time to be suited up, which drastically reduced the damage he received. Even with the suit, Eric's body was in a bizarre condition.

Rudy pulled him out of the car and laid him on the ground. He then scanned his body and muttered, "His bones are completely shattered. His ribs had broken into multiple parts and punctured his lungs. Two even managed to penetrate his heart.

He is dying! What should I do?! Call for help?! No, it would take too much time! And what can the doctor even do?! How will they save him?! Even if they manage to save him, he wouldn't be able to do anything! He will be bedridden for his entire life!"

As Rudy frantically thought of a way to save Eric, he looked at his hands that were fully covered in blood.

"What… is this…?" Rudy's palms were shining, or rather illuminating.

Rudy increased the intensity of the glow and placed his hands on Eric. Within a few seconds, Eric's wounds had begun to close.

Rudy scanned Eric's body as he saw his bones being repaired and the parts of his ribs slowly coming out of his lungs and heart.

It wasn't a healing process. Calling it a regeneration wouldn't make sense. Rather, it was restoration. Eric's body was slowly going back to the state it was before the accident.

'That's right! Restoration! Why did I forget about this ability? I used it for the first time in that cafe. Angelica was there too! Also, my power is to have any ability I want! I just have to think about its mechanism. Why did I not remember it?'

Eric's clothes were in the same state, but since he was wearing a suit, it wasn't as bad as Rudy.

After a few minutes, Rudy stopped the restoration process as Eric's body was back to normal. However, he couldn't help but worry since Eric hadn't woken up.

"His heart rate is stable, and he is breathing fine. He should wake up soon… right?"

While Rudy was worrying about Eric, something fell from the sky and landed in the forest a few hundred meters away from him.

"What was that? Is it the same thing that attacked us? If so, why couldn't I sense it? Yes, I was distracted, and I had turned all my senses off since I wanted to spend time with my family without listening to the noise around me.

At first, Rudy thought that they were hit by a car since they had stopped by the cliff— even though they had parked on the side of the area specially reserved for sightseeing. They weren't blocking the road to be hit by someone.

Rudy couldn't go into the forest and leave Eric defenseless, but he couldn't sit and wait, either. He had to do something and find the cause of the accident.

"If it was a living being, I would have sensed them, surely. I don't need superpowers to do that. We were hit by something hard and solid, and it wasn't big either."

Rudy activated his supervision as he muttered, "Let's see who wants to die."

Rudy could see a few miles away with his supervision that included heat vision and x-ray vision. Even though something had fallen into the forest a few seconds ago, when Rudy scanned the area, there was nothing.

There couldn't be a thing that could disappear into thin air without leaving a trace. Rudy could even see the flow of the wind, and with the super sense activated, he could even hear the noises ants and small flies were making.

Rudy's priority was to make sure nothing happened to Eric. He could fight that thing later if it showed itself.

And just when Rudy thought the danger had gone away, a glowing orb came from the forest in Rudy's direction.

It was so fast that if Rudy blinked, he would lose sight of it.

Usually, one would run, hide or try to dodge it, but Rudy approached it head on.
