Champion and quest
"I can see the wisdom in that approach even if it sounds lonely. Though I suppose you three in particular will never have that problem since you are all connected." I said with a nod. 'You are slightly mistaken. We were born of eternity and thus made to withstand it's passing without feeling much. By our very nature we cannot feel loneliness in the truest way, not like you mortals. This unfortunately also means it is a rare tragedy for us to truly grow attached to a mortal. Winter has to suffer this bittersweet situation with her current mate.' Uxie said calmly.-
"The Pidgey that stubbornly vied for her affection until he won her over correct? Snow, Winters daughter told me of him." I said and Uxie nodded. 'So you understand then. While Winters mate walks the same path all who seek godhood do Winter has accepted that he is more than likely going to fail and in time perish. It is the tragic truth all bonds between mortal and immortal lead to.' Uxie said with a slightly saddened tone. I wasn't surprised by this and if anything had accepted it myself.-
It was why I was so harsh with Cynthia when she tried to appeal to my humanity. I have no illusion that I will have to watch those I am close to age and die helplessly in time. It was kinder to myself and others if I simply don't form those bonds in the first place. That was fine though as I will never truly be alone. Vulcan and Hades were both natural born legendries and thus nigh immortal as unless killed they won't die. While soon Vulcan will leave me to seek it's own opportunities in the world it will always come back eventually.-
Hades on the other hand I was permanently stuck with as it will go where I do and stay with me for as long as I live and even if I perish for some reason, after. We weren't inseparable but so close to it that there was hardly any difference at all. While I hoped that my other pokemon would reach godhood with me as well I had to accept that might be a bit too optimistic. Uxie didn't stay long after that and besides complimenting my cooking had nothing else to say.-
The next part of the underground I planned to search was one of the most popular and as a result was likely to cause me the biggest headache as the league got word I was there searching for something. I was of course referring to the part of the underground that tunneled deep under Jubilife city, Canalave city, Sandgem town and lake Verity. As one of the most popular parts of the underground it was no surprise that it was also the most extensively explored and mined. Hell the first plate I ever obtained came from this stretch of the underground and I was sure there was at least two more there.-
To my slight surprise when all of my pokemon finally gathered up I saw that Tank had finally breached champion level and was sitting at one fifty even. This was actually ironic as he had done this without the Sky plate that completed his secondary typing. Like all nonvariant Butterfree Tank had both bug and flying types and while he possessed the Insect plate his energy was really lopsided without the Sky plate as well. As I had only just gotten the Sky plate however while he was off training it was only now after he had returned that he could try to equalize his energies.-
Honestly nothing really changed with Tank reaching champion level as his strength didn't jump or anything like that but it was still a milestone worth celebrating. That's what I did too as I threw a grand feast to celebrate his ascension to champion level while congratulating him on being the first out of everyone to do so. The others offered their own congratulations as well with the sole exception of Hades that simply didn't care one way or the other for useless titles like champion.-
It was understandable really as despite being the remnants of many souls having fused together Hades was a very simple minded creature. All it cared about was keeping us safe and strong while making our enemies suffer, that was it really. Perhaps that made it seem like a harsh existence but it cared in it's own twisted and mad way. Still with Tank having hit that milestone all of my other pokemon were now doubly motivated to reach it themselves. Once again I had Rune fly me across the region to the outskirts of lake Verity that I once again saw the scars of Galactic in.-
Once again the lake guardian passed over me with it's perception before choosing to disregard my presence. I x-rayed the ground to the underground and didn't see any plates conveniently located so close by but merely shrugged and had Gaia start digging again. To my surprise the system piped up at this point with a new quest randomly. I put off looking at it though as I wanted to get my camp set up and the tunnel to the underground situated first.-

'Well that's certainly straight forward. Selling the stuff might be a bit of a pain in the ass though so I'll need to be careful what I dig up.' I thought after I looked over and accepted the quest. That last objective in particular had me the most interested as those type of rewards tended to be really good if I went above and beyond what was required of me.-
Perhaps not evolution token good but if I could get even a couple more ability tickets it would be worth it as the more abilities I possessed the stronger my divinity would grow. I wasn't one hundred percent sure I assumed that if I somehow managed to get enough abilities I could become nigh unstoppable as I'd have a counter for literally everything.
What do you think?
