A God Killed Me By Accident, But I Reincarnated As The 4th Son Of The Marquis

Volume 14 Chapter 31: Tunnelers

Volume 14 Chapter 31: Tunnelers

"We can outrun them." The tunnelers seemed to be slower than their horses. Once they were out of sight, they were free. However, Jack shook his head, "No, that won't work. We'd been running for 30 minutes, but it continued to chase us!"

The same thought occurred for the group as they did outrun them. However, they soon spotted them, which caused this game of cat and mouse.

"They're locked on our scent."

"We need to do something to halt their movements, or we'll tire ourselves out." Krystal frowned. It could be an issue if these monsters had endless stamina; their horses didn't.

"Give me a second." Krystal took a gamble as she caused a small fire from the side.

Jack shouted, “Krystal! Are you trying to cause a forest fire?!” A last resort. This idea also occurred in his mind, but it was too dangerous and risky. There were so many issues with lighting a forest fire. They could cause a giant one with so many trees around here. Suffocating themselves and the other students.

"No choice. The other options aren't going to be enough." From how they talked, these guys won't stop. She pointed at a couple of trees, causing them to burn. Slowly, those trees tumbled onto those tunnelers!

Those tunnelers didn't even howl or make noses as they were encased in flames.

“Now is our chance!” These guys definitely felt it all. Jack and his people nodded as they rode as fast as possible.

Once they were out of sight, Krystal couldn’t help but scold, “What were you guys doing causing such a ruckus? Do you know how dangerous that was?" How did these guys anger so many monsters?

Jack and the others took a deep breath as they dropped to the ground. Their horses were the same as they laid down. Downing his jug of water,

"We never expected a situation like that." Them being trackers and revengers were something he never expected. When they followed the area, they spotted these tunnelers. Thinking that they were easy to kill since they were slow, they went on the attack. But it was a rude awakening as the tunnelers didn't take any damage.

Their attack angered them; it was the start of the chase. When he realized the issue, Coen didn’t hesitate to order to flee! There was no way he could fight all of this.

"So that's what they look like," Krystal mumbled.

"You've seen them?"

"Yes, I've seen the prints. I decided to check it out. But the number of them is staggering." The number of monsters there amounted to at least 100!

"And we need to escape as well." Those tunnelers didn't take any damage from the fire. They slowed down, but the fire was ineffective. Moreover, they were hunting them down!

Their situation just increased in difficulty.

“Krystal, please help us!”

“What do you think we should do?”

Helm and the others turned to her. Now that she was here, they needed her help.

“Ugh…” Krystal took a step back, slightly flustered by the situation. She had never thought he was going to be the leader of this.

Krystal took a deep breath, “Alright, for starters, we need to get out of here; I doubt we’ll be able to deal with them on a rampage. Even though they're after us, we can still search for monsters since it's slow.” There was a plus to it all; they should be good if they didn't forget about them.

“Understood!”

“Second, we need to find a food source. Have you all scourged for anything.”

“Mmhmm. We found some berries and other wild animals. But that was about it.“ The food source was good enough to keep them running.

Krystal nodded, “That’s good. Now, let’s move and go."

“But are the other students going to be fine with all of this?” With such a horde of monsters running amok, there was no way people would be injured.

“If they’re injured, they’ll probably be sent somewhere else.” Krystal had a hunch. The professors probably knew about it but decided to let it happen. There were many times that this had happened. This was probably not the first.

Krystal was right because Tennol and the other instructors were watching it. From how Coen and his group have gotten attacked by this group. One of the instructors then added,

“There are so many different ups and downs.”

This final was something of an outlier.

“So many students had been taking out during the final.” Jack’s group was not the first one the monsters had taken out. This hit A couple of groups, and the instructor quickly went in to save them.

"A couple of students were taken down by the tunnelers." Jack’s group was not the first one the monsters faced,

Tennol thought about this, “Keep watching over them for now. There’s no need to worry about it so much.” This would give them heat, and let's see how they would deal with this.

“And there’s someone who has decided to make a move against them.” Tennol grinned.
