Yugioh Card Summoner

CH.618 Generic Pack Opening chapter title number #19

CH.618 Generic Pack Opening chapter title number #19

Today I’ll be completing a set. One I opened packs of just a few days ago.

.

It is the oldest not completed set I have, and my fissure sense, which isn’t a thing by the way, is tingling. I think another dimensional fissure will pop up soon, so I should complete at least one set before one does. … yeah. The way I know that is that I looked at the calendar and realized it has been some time since the last one.

But that doesn't change anything. I’m opening 200 packs of Galactic Overlord, and we will see what I get.

Spoiler

And the new stuff.

Hieratic Dragon of Asar is fine. The special summon condition is easy enough and it has a good attack stat.

Photon Papilloperative is not that good for my use. Battle position switching isn’t that good in the first place, and it is even worse for me.

Trial and Tribulation is fine, but it is kind of a lot of setup for not that much of a payoff.

Number 11: Big Eye is great. Just mind control someone because why not.

Number 7: Lucky Straight is fine, but just too RNG.

Hieratic Dragon of Sutekh has nice stats and the banish to destroy is also good, but the summoning condition is a bit expensive. If it was just Dragon-Type monsters, it would be fine, but it needs you to banish 3 Dragon-Type Normal monsters.

Xyz Unit isn’t new, I got a copy from the Xyz challenge and have been able to get extra copies since then with Capsules, but it is new from this set.

Beetron is fine. Just a resurrection at the cost of a Continuous Spell.

Draconnection is just bad. If it special summoned stuff, I could abuse it, but I already have Atum.

Night Beam is great for trap destruction, as there is no chance of that trap activating while using Night Beam on it.

Zekt Conversion is another mind control card, and it is about as nice as Big Eye. Though admittedly it is more situational.

And Number 32: Shark Drake is good. Sure, needing 3 materials is a minus, but attacking twice, even if you have to resurrect an opposing monster for the second attack, is always nice.

Spoiler

Now to the missing cards.

Which there are 10.

Flelf is a mediocre Xyz or Synchro material. The level modulation really isn’t that good.

Noble Knight Artorigus is a Normal monster with 1800/1800 stats.

Hammer Bounzer has 2300 attack and prevents your opponent from using Magic or Traps on it.

Cardcar D can make some Pack tokens, but for what cost?

Tardy Orc is a normal summonable 2200 attacker, but can’t attack on the turn it is summoned.

Hieratic Seal From the Ashes just sets up your graveyard. Though the banished recovery is kind of nice.

Queen Dragun Djinn is nice. It protects dragons for battle destruction and can resurrect dragons. And he looks really nice.

Photon Strike Bounzer can negate effects and deal burn damage.

Gaia Dragon, the Thunder Charger is easy to summon, had good attack and deal piercing damage.

And Hieratic Sun Dragon Overlord of Heliopolis is fine, but the Galazy-Eyes Xyz monsters are generally better.

Spoiler

But that is another set completed.

And since I have nothing else to do, let’s just complete another set. Two in one day.

The second one will be .

So again, 200 packs, then the rest will be gotten with Capsules.

Spoiler

And the new stuff.

Heroic Champion - Excalibur isn’t new, I got it from the Xyz challenge. But I didn’t have it from this set yet.

ZW - Phoenix Bow is not the best Zexal Weapon there is. The attack boost is mediocre and the extra burn damage doesn’t really do much. But attack boosts are way more useful for me than they ever were in the TCG. Also, since Phoenix Bow is a bow that shoots flaming arrows, I can probably use it to better my bow designs.

Eco, Mystical Spirit of the Forest is just a counter to burn damage. I have other cards that do the same, but better.

Dust Knight just sends an Earth monster to the GY.

Spirit Converter is meant to be used with Number 91: Thunder Spark Dragon. At least I think so. Sadly it isn’t that good.

Grandsoil the Elemental Lord has a decent special summoning condition and it can resurrect a monster on summon.

Advanced Dark is nice. Though I am a bit iffy if I should make a Factory room about it, or not. I’m not quite sure if people will enjoy the .

Miracle Contact is something I thought was printed way before. I mean, Miracle Fusion was, so why not Miracle Contact? It is nice, but sadly most of the Neos fusions suck. Rainbow Neos is basically the only good one. And I can just summon them normally, instead of relying on Miracle Contact.

Rebound is a niche counter trap. It isn’t bad, just way too situational.

Blue Dragon Ninja sucks. You have to discard 2 cards and all you get is a targeted effect negation and cannot attack for a turn. Not worth it.

Geargiarmor searches other Geargia monsters.

Noble Knight Gawayn has okay stats and can special summon itself.

Spellbook of Life is just a Monster Reborn replacement. But it is a ‘Spellbook of Life’, so it might contain some overpowered healing spells.

Void Trap Hole is fine, but Trap Hole cards really aren’t the best for me.

Sword Breaker has a good attack stat for a rank 6, but the effect is disappointing.

Alchemic Magician is great. Mainly because she is an Alchemic Magician. Sure I already have an alchemist, but having a monster alchemist might help Sharon with her work.

Soul of Silvermountain is a bit too specific, and its stats really aren’t high enough for the battle effect.

Chronomaly Crystal Chrononaut is fine, but you’d never really summon it in Chronomaly.

Spellbook Magician of Prophecy searches Spellbook cards, so it is nice.

Silver Sentinel is a wannabe Artifact, but sadly it isn’t that good.

Madolche Puddingcess lacks stats. Sure it gains 800 more, but even then it only gets to 1800/1800. Which is low for a level 5. And the battle effect isn’t good either.

Superdimensional Robot Galaxy Destroyer is a 5k monster that can Harpie’s Feather Duster. It is amazing.

And Number 33: Chronomaly Machu Mech is actually really good. It goes super well with Number 36, though I don’t have that yet, and even outside of that, it is nice. There is a ton of attack buffing going on in this world, so Chronomaly Machu Mech will almost always be able to use its effect.

Spoiler

Now, the missing stuff.

And there are only five of them.

Gear Gigant X is fine. It searches Machine-Type monsters and resurrects a Geargia monster when it dies.

Illusory Snatcher is … an Xyz material you can special summon sometimes.

High Priestess of Prophecy has a decent special summoning condition and can target destroy stuff. And she is cute.

Advance Zone is bad. For TCG use at least. Tribute summoning is too rare for something like this card to be worth using.

And Number 6: Chronomaly Atlandis is … situational. The need for your opponent to have a ‘Number’ monster in their GY for this card to do anything makes it basically useless for me. I won’t have an opponent with a Number monster in their GY. And even if I did, all Chronomaly Atlandis does is halve their HP.

But that is Return of the Duelist completed.
