Chapter 1049: Chapter 1049: Absolutely No Problem

Fishing is all about matching the right bait to the fish you’re after. In Shi Yuqing’s eyes, to hook a small fish like Tian, one shouldn’t use too large a bait, or he won’t be able to swallow it.

Thus, he gave Tian a suitable piece of bait, making him believe he could safely swallow it. Only then could he reel him in.

When Lin Shen glanced at those records and paused, Shi Yuqing thought he was about to succeed.

As Lin Shen reached out for the records, Shi Yuqing’s eyes gradually widened, just waiting for him to flip through Wei Wufu’s records for a glance; then he could almost confirm that there was something fishy with Lin Shen.

Seeing Lin Shen’s hand touch the record book, Shi Yuqing’s eyes had already widened to the extreme, his face even distorted with excitement.

But the next second, Shi Yuqing was stunned. He saw Lin Shen pick up Wei Wufu’s record book, but instead of looking at it alone, he stacked it with a few others and casually handed them to Yuwen Jie at his side.

After Yuwen Jie took them, he put them into a box and quickly sealed the filled box.

“Could it be that he guessed there’s surveillance in the lab?” Shi Yuqing had already convinced himself of Lin Shen’s guilt, especially after that brief pause earlier; that action was amplified in his mind, making him more certain of Lin Shen’s guilt.

In theory, as a member of the security department, Lin Shen should know about the outside surveillance, which the security department can also monitor. Thus, his hesitation to act out in the open was natural.

However, security personnel should know there are no cameras inside the lab, so it was confusing why he still did not act.

“This man is overly cautious,” Shi Yuqing sneered, “If he dares not look here, he must be planning to do it on the way or when he gets to the storage. Next, he will probably ask to take over from Luo Yun or Wei Zitao in delivering items to storage.”

Yet, to Shi Yuqing’s disappointment, Lin Shen did not request to deliver items as he had expected.

The box containing the record books was taken away by Luo Yun and Wei Zitao.

Shi Yuqing frowned as he watched Lin Shen in the video, not doubting his judgment, but feeling that Lin Shen was more difficult to deal with than he had anticipated.

While packing up his things, Lin Shen suddenly stood up and greeted a passing researcher.

“Researcher, thanks for last time,” Lin Shen said.

The researcher halted by Lin Shen turned out to be Zhang Jiahao, looking somewhat startled, he glanced at Lin Shen as if remembering, “It’s you? You recovered so quickly?”

“If it weren’t for your timely disinfection, I would have been in trouble. I’ve heard that the stuff is extremely dangerous; had you not disinfected in time, I could have lost my life. I’m really grateful to you,” Lin Shen said with an appreciative look.

Zhang Jiahao was about to say something but suddenly paused, examining Lin Shen carefully, then abruptly grabbed Lin Shen’s hand, turning it over and over as if confirming something.

“Is there any problem with you?” After a while, Zhang Jiahao finally let go of Lin Shen’s hand and asked.

“You don’t need to worry. The disinfection you did for me was so timely, I’m perfectly fine now,” Lin Shen gratefully responded.

“Come here, let me do another physical check-up for you,” Zhang Jiahao thought to himself, “Who the hell is worried about you.”

“Really, there’s no need, I’m all better now, it’s not worth the trouble,” Lin Shen said with a humble expression, not wanting to bother others.

“It’s necessary, otherwise, if any sequelae were left, it’d be troublesome,” Zhang Jiahao directly intimidated Lin Shen.

Upon hearing this, Lin Shen’s complexion visibly changed, and without further reluctance, he uttered some words of gratitude and followed Zhang Jiahao to another lab for a check-up.

“Something’s not right, this guy is just not right. What on earth does he want to do?” Shi Yuqing was staring intently at the surveillance, but couldn’t figure out what Lin Shen was up to.

Everything seemed normal, yet it was not.

Zhang Jiahao conducted a full physical examination on Lin Shen and also quietly carried out a small experiment under the guise of the check-up.

Although the final results of the small experiment were not out by the time Lin Shen left, it had already excited Zhang Jiahao enough.

Zhang Jiahao waited restlessly for the experimental results; without them, he was in no mood for anything.

Until the moment the results came out, Zhang Jiahao was so thrilled that he could hardly contain himself.

“Boss, come see what I found.” Zhang Jiahao ran to his boss with the results, bursting into the room without even knocking.

Shi Yuqing repeatedly watched the surveillance footage of Lin Shen in the laboratory, still watching it after many times.

“Lord.” It wasn’t until Liu Siming came over that Shi Yuqing’s gaze moved away from the video; he hurriedly got up to pay his respects.

“How did it go?” Liu Siming asked.

“Tian did not look at the experimental records,” Shi Yuqing replied.

“It seems that there should not be a big problem with this person. Alright, from now on, just monitor him as before,” Liu Siming exceptionally granted Shi Yuqing access to the lab’s surveillance, but he could not keep this privilege forever.

There were too many secrets in the lab, and Shi Yuqing had not yet earned the right to see them; this was already an exception.

“Lord, there’s definitely something wrong with this Tian. Look at this.” Shi Yuqing showed the video of Lin Shen proactively interacting with Zhang Jiahao.

“Is there a problem with this?” Liu Siming looked and didn’t think there was any issue.

“He initiated contact with the researcher, and Zhang Jiahao, as a disciple of Director Lin, also strangely conducted a check-up on him. This is somewhat abnormal; it looks like Tian did it on purpose,” Shi Yuqing said.

Liu Siming chuckled and said: “You don’t need to worry about this matter; it’s absolutely not possible that it was intentional.”

“Why?” Shi Yuqing was taken aback, not understanding why Liu Siming would say this.

“Director Lin has already spoken to me about it; the check-up Zhang Jiahao performed on Tian was actually a test. The results now show that his body is unusual compared to normal people, which is very helpful for our experiments. Therefore, he requested personnel to make him a subject for experimentation,” Liu Siming said with a smile, “If Tian really had any plotting in mind, do you think he would design himself to become a test subject?”

Upon hearing this, Shi Yuqing froze; he had never expected such an outcome.

Indeed, no one would scheme to become a test subject; he knew all too well what the fate of being a test subject was.

If Shi Yuqing had to choose between two paths, one leading to death and the other to becoming a test subject, he would choose the former without hesitation.

“Alright, you don’t need to concern yourself too much with this matter, just keep monitoring him as usual. I am already processing the paperwork, sending him into the laboratory. Whether he has problems or not, after that he will have no more problems,” Liu Siming said with a smile.

This trouble with Lin Shen was already annoying him, and now this would resolve everything once and for all.

Once Tian enters the lab, he’s as good as dead; there was no longer any need for Wu Qing to keep bothering him daily, and it could be considered doing Wu Qing a favor. This means less trouble for himself too; it’s a win-win situation.
