Reborn as a Transcendent

Chapter 654: The Un-removable Blame

In Dorado, America, inside one of the CIA’s branch offices.

“Mira! Big news!”

“What’s with the yelling? Have you forgotten your manners?” Mira had just logged out of the game and was enjoying a rare moment of peace, lounging on the sofa with a warm cup of coffee in hand.

Across from her, a coworker who had been lazily scrolling through her phone suddenly shrieked with excitement, shattering the quiet and thoroughly irritating Mira.

“Sorry, I didn’t mean to! But Mira, you have to hear this—it’s really important!” her colleague said, practically bouncing with excitement.

“How shocking could it possibly be?” Mira replied lazily, reclining further into the sofa and crossing her long, stocking-clad legs with practiced grace. As a seasoned agent, Mira had seen it all. Very little could rattle her composure.

“What I’m about to say… don’t let it shock you,” her colleague said, suddenly serious.

“Go ahead. I won’t be surprised.”

‘Please, I’ve seen it all. What could possibly shake me now?’ Mira thought smugly, taking a slow sip of her coffee.

“Princess… she’s actually a Grandmaster.” The words came slowly and clearly, as if to ensure there was no misunderstanding.

"Pfft!" Mira choked and sprayed her coffee everywhere—right into her colleague’s face. She wasn’t just surprised—she was genuinely alarmed.

“You said you wouldn’t be surprised,” her colleague muttered, dabbing her face with a tissue in frustration.

“Is this for real?” Mira put down her cup and sprang to her feet, eyes locked on her colleague with a grave expression. If this intel was accurate, then everything they’d done up until now had been for nothing. Worse, it would be as if they’d handed the advantage to the enemy on a silver platter.

“I just got this from [Assassin’s Alliance]. The one who posted it was the forum admin—[E-Fairy] Vera herself!” her colleague said, her tone matching the gravity of the moment.

Mira let out a sharp breath through her teeth. If it had come from anyone else, she might’ve dismissed it—but from [E-Fairy], it could only mean one thing: it was the truth.

“Let me see it,” she said urgently, reaching out her hand.

Her colleague handed over the phone without hesitation.

As her eyes scanned the screen, Mira’s pupils contracted. A wave of disbelief and dread surged through her.

“The best actress… Princess, you deserve an Oscar,” she muttered. A chill ran down Mira’s spine.

This Princess wasn’t just powerful, she was dangerously cautious. She wasn’t a wolf in sheep’s clothing—she was a monster wearing human skin. A monster that devoured her enemies whole.

Suddenly, Mira pictured a massive carnivorous flower—deceptively beautiful, exuding a sweet fragrance to lure in prey. But the moment anyone drew close, it would snap shut and consume them without mercy.

“Princess… you’re terrifying,” Mira whispered, equal parts awe and excitement in her voice.

‘No wonder I lost so badly when I challenged her projection back then. She’s a Grandmaster, fully armed with an artifact and a full set of Epic Equipment. It would’ve been strange if I’d won!'

In that instant, all the strange and seemingly illogical events of the past clicked into place—everything made sense if she had been a Grandmaster all along.

“She’s working with Ronald Tian, staying hidden while he draws all the attention. This way, they can eliminate threats to Cathay one by one. What a brilliant tactic!” The more she considered it, the more impressed she became with whoever was masterminding things in Cathay. “What a meticulous operation. It must be the work of Cathay’s strongest—Lisa Black!”

At that very moment, far away in Cathay’s capital of Yanjing, a tall beauty with long, flowing black hair suddenly sneezed without warning.

Meanwhile, in San Francisco, at the headquarters of the Small Sword Group…

Lucky Hong was deep in secluded training, refining the life essence within his body in hopes of advancing to a higher level within the Grandmaster Realm.

A sudden, urgent knock echoed through the training room, disrupting the quiet concentration.

“Boss, something’s wrong!” a man’s panicked voice called out from behind the door.

With a long exhale, Lucky—seated cross-legged—gathered his aura and withdrew his internal energy. His eyes snapped open, sharp and gleaming with intensity. He cast a displeased glance toward the door. “How many times have I told you not to interrupt my training?”

Though his tone sounded calm, the man outside—dressed in a black suit with slicked-back hair—knew better. The boss was furious. And when Lucky was angry, the consequences were never mild.

“I deserve a thousand deaths for disturbing your training, Boss! But this news is urgent—I had to report it!” The man’s voice cracked as fear gripped him.

“Come in,” Lucky said, his tone shifting as he sensed the seriousness of the matter.

The young man wasted no time, opening the door and hurrying into the room.

“Speak. What is it?” Lucky had faced countless crises—unless the matter endangered his organization or his own survival, he would remain composed.

“Boss, what I have to report is…”

Before he could finish, Lucky cut him off. “Spit it out. Don’t waste my time!” More than anything, he despised those who wasted his time.

Hearing those words, the young man froze, his heart skipping a beat as dread crept up his spine. He had intended to ease the boss into the news, to give him a moment to mentally prepare—but that courtesy had been flatly rejected, met instead with irritation.

That small act of consideration had only brought him trouble. Steadying his nerves, the young man began to speak carefully. “Boss… that Princess is actually a Grandmaster. She’s been faking weakness this entire time.”

The words hit Lucky like a thunderclap.

“What… did you just say?” He shot to his feet, grabbing the young man by the shoulders with a vice-like grip. His eyes were wide with disbelief, his face etched with shock.

“Boss… it’s true. The Princess really is a Grandmaster!” the young man gasped, barely managing to speak through the pain of the iron grip on his shoulders.

“She’s… actually a Grandmaster?” This time, Lucky fully registered the words.

“Yes!” the young man affirmed.

“Then that means… she’s the one who killed Mitch, my most treasured disciple?” Lucky released him and took two slow steps backward, his voice hollow with disbelief.

The young man said nothing.

“No… it had to be Ronald Tian! He knew Mitch was my favorite, and still showed no mercy. Ronald, you venomous old dog!” His rage erupted in a furious outburst. His aura flared violently, sending the young man hurtling across the room as the energy surged outward like a shockwave.

Back in Cathay, at the Ye family residence in Yanjing…

Donald Ye stared at the information on his phone, his pupils narrowing slightly in surprise. But the surprise quickly faded, replaced by a faint smirk curling at his lips.

‘An eighteen-year-old Grandmaster… Just as expected from a Kun Ruins prodigy. I spent half a billion to settle that grudge—and looking back, it was the smartest move I ever made,’ Donald mused, silently applauding his own foresight.

By now, news of Yaeger’s Grandmaster status had spread like wildfire through the global elite. It hit the world of powerbrokers like a magnitude-12 earthquake—violent and unforgettable.

Meanwhile, in the [City of Chaos]…

“Perfect.” Yaeger had just completed the cosmetic enhancements on the three sisters and couldn’t help but admire her handiwork.

As expected, beauty was always a pleasure to behold.
