The interior of the Ancient Palace seemed different from the previous passage. Sun Wukong and Zhao Jun walked for half a day without encountering any danger, yet both remained vigilant and quickened their steps considerably.

Passing through the gate revealed the garden scenery beyond; however, Sun Wukong abruptly halted in his tracks, pulling Zhao Jun back a couple of steps. At the same moment, a barrier suddenly manifested at the spot where they would have stepped. Zhao Jun’s raised garment was sliced off without a sound by the barrier.

A gasp of air escaped from Zhao Jun’s mouth. Had he remained in that spot without retreating, wouldn’t he have been sliced in half?

“Why is there a spatial rift here?”
