Chapter 80 - 80 80 Chenbao is Missing
80: Chapter 80: Chenbao is Missing 80: Chapter 80: Chenbao is Missing Three female teachers exchanged a silent understanding upon successfully taking Si Chen away.
After being rejected by Su Wan once again, they took the opportunity to leave.
Su Wan straightened her messed-up clothes: “These people are so annoying, I’ve said no again and again, but they just keep pushing their sales.
It’s really aggravating.”
Jian Yue pouted her lips, unwillingly saying, “Godmom, I want that Barbie doll.”
Su Wan readily agreed, “Fine, godmom will buy it for you.
After we have dinner, I’ll take you to the shopping mall to have a look!”
Upon hearing her words, Jian Yue was so happy she almost jumped with joy.
“Godmom, I love you to death!
You’re so nice!”
Su Wan fondly ruffled her little head of hair, “Stop buttering me up, we’re going to buy groceries first.
Godmom will make sweet and sour pork ribs for you to eat today!”
“Okay!”
Thinking about her impending Barbie doll, Jian Yue suddenly felt that Su Wan’s cooking wasn’t so bad after all.
Su Wan took Jian Yue’s hand, the other hand instinctively reaching for Si Chen, but she encountered emptiness.
She reached out behind her a few more times, but still caught nothing.
“Chenbao, hurry up and hold my hand, we’re going home!”
No one responded from behind her.
Su Wan frowned, pretended to be angry, and turned around, but before she could get angry, she realized there was no one behind her – Si Chen was nowhere to be seen.
A sense of foreboding surged in her heart.
She shouted uneasily.
“Chenbao…
Chenbao…”
Jian Yue also sensed something was wrong and hurriedly asked, “Godmom, where’s my brother?”
Su Wan didn’t have time to answer her question, frantically searching the crowd for Si Chen’s small figure.
While searching, she yelled his name loudly.
“Chenbao…
Chenbao…”
But still, there was no response.
The unease in her heart continued to expand.
Su Wan thought about all the possibilities that could have occurred, growing more and more fearful by the moment.
She was calling Jian Si while heading to the school to check the surveillance footage.
When Jian Si received Su Wan’s call, she was dining with Lu Yanbai.
“Xiao Wan, what’s wrong?”
“Sisi, sorry, I’ve lost Chenbao!” Su Wan’s voice trembled as she spoke.
Jian Si thought it was another one of Si Chen’s pranks and remained calm, “Don’t panic.
Chenbao is so smart and sensible; nothing will happen to him!
Call him on his phone.”
“I did, but I couldn’t get through,” Su Wan was almost in tears.
Jian Si furrowed her brow, “How can you not get through?
Don’t panic, I’ll try calling him.”
“Okay!”
After ending the call, Jian Si immediately dialed Si Chen’s number.
“Sorry, the number you have dialed is currently unavailable.
Please try again later.”
Is his phone really off?
Chenbao has always been exceptionally sensible since he was young, a child who always took responsibility.
He would never disappear without reason and cause concern.
Could something really have happened to him?
A sense of foreboding rose in Jian Si’s heart.
She quickly called Su Wan back.
“Xiao Wan, what exactly happened?
How could Chenbao disappear without reason?”
Su Wan choked up as she went through the events.
“I kept saying no, but those two people just wouldn’t leave me alone; I couldn’t shake them off!
Sisi, I’m sorry, I didn’t take good care of Chenbao, I’m so useless…”
Jian Si was trembling with fear, nearly unable to hold onto her phone, yet still tried to speak calmly, “Don’t cry, I’m coming over right now.
Are you at the school’s surveillance room?”
“Yes!
I just got to the surveillance room!”
Jian Si: “Okay, I’m on my way there, wait for me!”
After speaking, she put down her tableware and said to Lu Yanbai, “Xiao Bai, Mommy has an emergency and needs to go out for a bit.
If you need anything, call Daddy, and I’ll come back as soon as I’m done.”
As she spoke, her face turned pale, and her lips quivered.
Lu Yanbai had never seen her like this before and anxiously asked, “Mommy, what happened?
Do you need my help?”
Jian Si was grabbing her bag from the wardrobe while saying, “Just stay here and be a good boy.
Mommy can handle it alone.”
Lu Yanbai obediently nodded, “Okay, I’ll stay at home and be good.
If you can’t handle it, call me!
Although I might not be much help, Daddy certainly can be.”
“Fine,” Jian Si replied noncommittally, slinging her bag over her shoulder and hurriedly leaving.
Just as she reached the elevator entrance, she encountered Lu Youting coming out of the elevator.
“You…”
Lu Youting was about to greet her when Jian Si, looking anxious, entered the elevator without seeming to notice him.
“…??”
Jian Si rushed to the kindergarten with the utmost speed.
The surveillance room was packed with people; even the school’s authorities were there.
Su Wan and Jian Yue had cried until their eyes were swollen.
Seeing Jian Si enter, they grasped her like she was their anchor, hugging her tightly.
“Sisi, I’m sorry, I’ve lost Chenbao!
I’m so useless, I can’t even keep an eye on a child.”
Jian Yue cried inconsolably, “Mommy, my brother has been taken away by traffickers…
wuwu…
Am I not going to have a brother anymore, wuwu…”
Her words made Jian Si’s heart skip a beat, plummeting to the depths.
“What exactly happened?”
The school principal, full of regret, said, “Jian Yue’s mother, I’m so sorry, it was our negligence that led to Si Chen being abducted by traffickers right outside the school.
Rest assured, we will cooperate with the police to investigate and find Si Chen as soon as possible.”
Jian Si felt a coldness in her chest.
“Chenbao was taken away by traffickers?”
The principal nodded in difficulty, signaling to pull up the surveillance footage.
The surveillance clearly showed someone taking advantage of the chaos to drug and abduct Si Chen.
The person who took Si Chen wore a duckbill cap and a mask; except for knowing he was of average build, his face couldn’t be seen at all.
Jian Si felt like the sky was falling; everything spun around her, and she almost passed out, but Su Wan managed to support her to a chair in time, “Sisi, are you okay?
Don’t scare me!”
Jian Si felt powerless, slumping in the chair, “Call, call the police…
Call them quickly…”
Su Wan immediately took out her phone, her hands slipping due to urgency—if not for her quick reflexes, the phone might have flown away.
The police arrived quickly.
Reviewing surveillance, collecting evidence, recording statements.
After completing all procedures, the sky had already turned completely dark.
Jian Si returned home like a walking corpse.
Jian Yue fell asleep from crying, her head resting on Su Wan’s shoulder.
Su Wan carried her back to the room, carefully placing her on the bed.
As she came out, seeing Jian Si still sitting on the sofa, lost in a daze, the sense of guilt in her heart deepened.
“Sisi, I’m sorry, it’s all my fault, I’m useless…”
Jian Si mechanically shook her head, “This has nothing to do with you!
Those people came prepared, even if you knew they were traffickers, you wouldn’t stand a chance against them.”
The more she said that, the guiltier Su Wan felt, the tears that she had barely stopped fell again.
“Where could they have taken Chenbao?
Why did they kidnap Chenbao?
Why…
If I ever encounter them, I will cut them to pieces.”
The images of Si Chen being tormented by traffickers uncontrollably filled Jian Si’s mind, her heart aching non-stop.
She couldn’t sit anymore.
Grabbing the car keys, she dashed to the door.
“No, I have to find Chenbao; he’s waiting for me to save him.
I must find him…”
What do you think?
