Giratina & the Sky Warrior- II[572]
Without paying attention to where it was running, Shaymin bumped straight into a floating ball of purple mist.
In the next instant, the mist was absorbed into its body.
A sudden surge of intense energy flooded through Shaymin, making it sneeze uncontrollably. The power inside it swelled wildly, growing stronger and stronger.
It was about to burst out!
Shaymin opened its eyes wide and let out a loud cry: "Shaaaay!"
A dazzling light exploded from Shaymin's small body, and in the blink of an eye, a rift to the real world was torn open!
Dialga, who was locked in a fierce struggle nearby, immediately noticed the change. Its eyes lit up, and without hesitation, it turned and rushed toward the portal.
A strong gust swept through the area, and Shaymin was carried along with Dialga into the passage.
'Crazy! What a madman!' Dialga thought furiously.
Desperate to keep Giratina trapped, Dialga channeled the power of time from within its body just before escaping, sealing the Reverse World behind it. The distortion locked Giratina in a time loop, preventing it from reaching the real world.
Seeing Dialga about to flee, Giratina roared and tried to chase after it, but just as it was about to pass through the portal, a strange phenomenon occurred.
The space around the portal began to contract, and the entrance collapsed back to its original state!
'What's going on?!'
Giratina lunged forward again, but each time the portal closed before it could pass through.
After dozens of attempts, Giratina finally realized the awful truth: Dialga had sealed it inside!
"Rooooar!"
Furious, Giratina let out a thunderous roar that shook the Reverse World.
But then, it remembered something, the image of the tiny Pokémon who had managed to open the portal earlier.
Giratina quickly calmed itself. Its piercing gaze locked onto the distant Shaymin, who was being carried away.
'There's still a way out!'
If it could find Shaymin again and make it use that power, it could break Dialga's seal!
Thinking this, Giratina twisted its massive body and surged forward, chasing in the direction Shaymin had disappeared.
...
Meanwhile, Ash and his friends continued their journey across the Sinnoh region, determined to become true Pokémon Masters.
One day, they encountered a Pokémon named Shaymin.
After learning about Shaymin's goal to reach the Gracidea Flower Fields, the ever-enthusiastic Ash immediately offered to help guide it there.
And so, the group set off on a new adventure.
However, as they passed through a small park, Shaymin suddenly grew extremely nervous.
It squirmed out of Dawn's arms, trembling with panic, and cried out using telepathy:
"Shaay!" (It's coming!)
Dawn blinked, confused. "What?"
Shaymin looked around frantically, its little body shaking. "Shaay..." (That guy... that guy's coming...)
Before anyone could react, Shaymin suddenly yelped again, it felt something grab hold of its body!
Panicking, Shaymin kicked its short legs wildly.
Ash looked up and instantly recognized the culprits.
"Team Rocket!" he growled, clenching his fists.
"Heh, we're taking Shaymin!" James laughed triumphantly.
Jessie, standing beside him, added with a smirk, "Now that we've got it, we'll be going!"
"Thank you, meowth!" Meowth chimed in gleefully.
With that, Team Rocket turned and bolted.
But just as they were about to make their escape, something unexpected happened.
A strange tornado suddenly burst forth from the mirrored surfaces of the buildings on either side of the road.
The Rocket trio barely had time to scream as an invisible force yanked them backward.
Before Ash and Dawn could react, the same force grabbed them too, pulling them all into a swirling portal.
In the blink of an eye, they were transported into a strange new space.
The Rocket trio vanished somewhere in the chaos, while Dawn quickly caught Shaymin in her arms.
Shaymin continued trembling nervously.
"I really don't like this place... Let's get out of here!" Shaymin whimpered through telepathy.
Suddenly, a strong gust of wind slammed into Ash and Dawn, tossing them onto a floating sky island.
As they struggled to regain their balance, an enormous shadow loomed over them.
Looking up, Dawn froze.
"That Pokémon... is—!"
"Giratina!" Ash immediately recognized the fearsome Pokémon.
He knew that Giratina loved to surf the internet and even followed its updates!
Seeing Giratina, Shaymin, trembling in Dawn's arms, grew even more nervous. Its small body shook uncontrollably as it cried out in fear, "You're going to eat me!"
Hearing this, Ash frowned. He stared at the ferocious Giratina rushing toward them, mouth open and fangs bared. After a brief hesitation, he gave the order:
"Pikachu, use Thunderbolt!"
"Pika-chu!"
A bright yellow bolt of electricity shot from Pikachu's cheeks, aiming straight at Giratina.
But Giratina twisted its body effortlessly, dodging the attack with ease.
Just as Ash was about to launch another move, a thin man suddenly leapt down from a floating sky island nearby, shouting urgently:
"Stop! Don't anger Giratina!"
Ash froze in surprise.
The man glanced briefly at Giratina, who had turned its head toward them, and then motioned frantically, "This way!"
Ash and Dawn didn't hesitate. With the help of the strange terrain around them, they quickly followed the man and managed to evade Giratina's pursuit.
Once they were safe, the man turned back to them. "Is everyone alright?"
Shaymin let out a relieved sigh. "I'm fine... as long as I don't get eaten."
"Huh?" The man noticed Shaymin and suddenly recalled something. "Are you the Shaymin I saw earlier?"
"Huh? Who are you?" Shaymin asked, tilting its head curiously.
The man introduced himself with a proud smile. "My name is Newton Graceland. I've been studying the Reverse World for years. Although it's a title I gave myself, I'm actually a genius scholar, just not very famous yet!"
Ash blinked. "You just called yourself a genius scholar."
Dawn couldn't help but whisper, "Is it okay to brag like that?"
"What a weirdo," Shaymin muttered bluntly.
"Hey, hey, is that how you talk to your savior?" Newton said, looking hurt.
Seeing this, Dawn quickly realized her mistake and bowed politely. "Thank you for saving us! I'm Dawn."
"And I'm Ash!" Ash added quickly. "But... Mr. Newton, what exactly is going on here?"
"Well... it's a long story," Newton said thoughtfully. He then asked, "Do you kids know where you are right now?"
"The Reverse World where Giratina lives!" Ash answered without hesitation. He had even read about it on Giratina's online profile!
"Exactly!" Newton nodded enthusiastically. "I've been studying this place for five years and have discovered a lot about it!"
"What did you find?" Ash asked eagerly.
"The Reverse World is a realm closely tied to the real world. Some areas are distorted, some have strange gravitational forces. In short, it's a 'broken world' that defies the natural laws!"
"The two worlds are tightly connected, yet they never overlap. Only Giratina has the ability to travel freely between them. It's the only Pokémon that lives here. You could say Giratina is the master of the Reverse World!" Newton said passionately.
Shaymin, however, looked extremely uneasy.
"I hate that guy... He wants to eat me," it muttered, trembling.
"Hmm?" Newton was a little surprised, then fell into deep thought. "Why would it want to eat you?"
But he quickly realized this wasn't the time to discuss that.
"By the way," Newton asked, "do you want to leave here and return to the real world?"
Before Ash and Dawn could respond, Shaymin hurriedly nodded and said, "We're going to the flower garden!"
"I see..." Newton muttered as he glanced at his Rotom Phone to check the time. "Then there's no time to relax!"
"Huh?" Ash blinked in confusion.
Without wasting another second, Newton turned around and took off running. "Anyway, let's move!"
Ash and Dawn quickly followed after him.
As they weaved through several twisted and gravity-defying structures, Ash suddenly noticed thick swirls of dark purple mist gathering on the road ahead.
"What's that?" Ash couldn't help but stretch out his hand curiously.
Seeing this, Newton quickly shouted, "Don't touch it!"
Startled, Ash jerked his hand back immediately.
"That mist is poisonous," Newton warned. "Inhaling too much could be life-threatening!"
Hearing that, Pikachu quickly swung its tail, fanning the black mist away from Ash and Dawn. "Pika-pi!"
"What's going on, Mr. Newton?" Dawn asked, concerned.
Newton began explaining as they carefully navigated around the mist:
"When the real world becomes distorted, the Reverse World reacts in order to stabilize the balance between time and space. That's when this black mist appears."
He paused before continuing, his tone more serious.
"Not long ago, two dimensions that were never supposed to collide, time and space, smashed together. Dialga and Palkia each thought the other was invading their territory, so they started fighting."
Hearing this, Ash immediately remembered something. He turned to Dawn beside him and said, "That was..."
"Alamos Town," Dawn finished, her eyes widening.
Newton nodded and continued:
"Back then, the distortion was so severe that a massive amount of black mist overflowed into the Reverse World."
"Giratina was furious at Dialga and Palkia for polluting its domain. It eventually captured Dialga when it appeared in the real world."
"But Dialga managed to escape because of Shaymin's Seed Flare. It used its powers over time to seal off the Reverse World afterward."
Hearing all this, Dawn suddenly understood.
"So that's why Giratina is so angry at Shaymin..."
"Giratina must be absolutely furious," Ash said.
Newton nodded thoughtfully. "And since Giratina can't enter the real world because of Dialga's ability, it's been stuck here."
Shaymin huffed, "That's what he gets, he made the world mad, so now he's being punished!"
Newton chuckled awkwardly and continued leading the way.
"Actually," he explained, "this Reverse World is just as vast as the real world we live in. Giratina used to roam freely around here, but for some reason, it left a few years ago. It's only recently returned."
...
Meanwhile, somewhere else in the Reverse World.
Team Rocket was wandering around, trying to figure out the bizarre place they had stumbled into.
"We've ended up somewhere really weird," Jessie muttered, looking around uneasily.
"It feels like there's no one around in this whole town," James said as he jumped down from a twisted, floating structure.
Meowth tried walking along a warped wall like Spider-Man and complained, "Up is down, down is up... What's even happening here, meow?"
Completely confused, and having already lost track of both Shaymin and Pikachu, the trio sighed heavily in unison.
"What a rotten feeling, meow."
Suddenly, a massive shadow loomed behind them.
Meowth's fur bristled. He turned around slowly and came face-to-face with a huge Pokémon, its blood-red eyes glaring down at them.
"AHHH! It's Giratina, the Legendary Pokémon, meow!" Meowth screeched.
All three froze in terror, clutching each other tightly.
Giratina stared at them with an intense, violent gaze.
Cold sweat began pouring down the trio's faces.
Then, a thought struck Meowth. He whispered urgently to Jessie and James, "I heard online that if you ever run into Giratina, just say you're its biggest fan! If you do, it won't hurt you, meow!"
"Why didn't you say that earlier?!"
But without missing another beat, Jessie and James immediately put on their most enthusiastic smiles.
"Oh, mighty Giratina, it's an honor to meet you! We're your biggest fans!" Jessie gushed.
"Yeah! We've been following your updates and liking your posts every day!" James chimed in, nodding eagerly.
"That's right, meow!" Meowth added, flashing a nervous grin.
Giratina stared silently at them for a long, tense moment.
Just as the trio was sure their bluff would be exposed, Giratina suddenly turned away. With a powerful sweep of its wings, it twisted its massive body and flew off into the distance.
"Huuuh..."
Team Rocket let out a huge sigh of relief, collapsing onto the ground.
What do you think?
