Chapter 201 - 201 Battle Of gods
The streets were silent, torn and burned from the last series of battles. Smoke curled from distant buildings, rubble scattered like confetti after a war parade. And in the heart of it all stood Nate, his boots grinding against broken pavement, eyes locked forward with a calmness that could crack stone.
Before him, four terrifying figures slowly approached—the five-tailed Govark, Zoro, and the two monstrous Keepers, clad in grotesque armor, radiating dread with every step. This was it. The final wall before peace. The last fight before the end.
Without warning, the two Keepers surged forward with unnatural speed. Their growls split the air, and their fists, thick as steel beams, charged at Nate in tandem. Nate tensed, readying himself, but then he felt it.
A soft scent. Sweet, like lilac and ash.
Out of the shadows, Sera emerged, silent and deadly, standing beside Nate without a word. Her dark eyes burned with resolve, shadows curling at her feet like loyal pets. Next came Madison, her glowing bow in hand, crystal arrows humming with anticipation. Then Bella appeared, her expression firm, her body hovering slightly above the ground as telekinetic waves shimmered around her. Ryder walked forward next, armored and silent, his sheer presence exuding power.
And then, everyone. Every fighter from the island. Every soul that had bled and fought and survived beside Nate, they all walked up behind him like an army of vengeance.
They were bruised. Exhausted. But unbroken.
Madison leaned close to Nate and spoke quietly, "Elena... she's our answer."
Nate glanced sideways. "Elena?"
"She can amplify our powers... times two. For five minutes," Madison explained. "That's all we'll get. Five minutes. Make it count."
Nate's eyes widened, then narrowed with renewed determination. Five minutes was a short eternity when death was waiting at every corner.
Then, Elena stepped forward. Her hands clasped near her chest as a soft white glow bloomed from her heart, spilling outward like a sunrise. The glow touched every fighter, and immediately, they felt it—the power, the surging of energy like tidal waves under their skin. Fire burned brighter. Ice felt sharper. Shadows danced faster. Mind and body perfectly aligned.
Nate flexed his fingers, watching orange and gold flames spiral from his knuckles. "Five minutes," he whispered.
His gaze snapped to Zoro who was already moving.
Lightning danced behind Zoro's back as he roared, launching himself forward. The five-tailed Govark followed, its tail swiping across the road and reducing cars to dust. The two Keepers weren't far behind, roaring with glee at the chaos.
But Nate was already in the air.
Flames exploded behind him, propelling him forward like a meteor. The ground cracked beneath the force as he clashed with Zoro mid-air. Their fists collided—one of fire, the other of lightning—and the sky screamed with the sound of their impact. A wave of heat and electricity shot across the battlefield, knocking down trees, buildings, and fighters alike.
Nate was sent flying, smashing through a ruined skyscraper. The structure groaned and collapsed as dust billowed into the sky.
And yet... silence didn't follow.
Nate's silhouette emerged from the smoke, rising slowly, flames licking his arms, eyes locked on Zoro.
Nate's body pulsed with the amplified force of Elena's blessing, fire swirling madly around him like a furious dragon with no leash. The battle was nearing its peak, the air thick with energy, dust, and the cries of distant explosions.
Hovering just above the battlefield, Nate clenched his fists, the flames in his hands burning brighter than ever before. He wasn't holding back anymore.
He roared.
The fire responded.
From his palms, a glowing orb began to form—a massive sphere of condensed flame, its surface swirling violently. It grew larger with every passing second, its light casting long shadows across the ruins. The clouds above parted from the sheer heat it emitted. The very air shimmered.
And then he released it.
The fireball tore through the sky toward Zoro like the wrath of a sun god. Buildings melted in its path, trees vaporized, and the ground cracked from the intensity. A wave of heat washed over the land so fierce that the reinforced bunker sensors picked it up instantly. People watching from the underground shelters turned away from the screens, shielding their eyes.
It was as if a second sun had descended on the battlefield.
Zoro stood in mid-air, his dark robes fluttering around him, the eerie aura of his power coiling like snakes around his body. He watched the oncoming inferno with a calm, almost amused expression. A smirk tugged at the corners of his lips.
He didn't even move.
Before the flames could reach him, the five-tailed Gorvak below snapped its attention upward. It was still engaged with Alice, exchanging devastating blows and narrowly dodging her freezing strikes, but the moment it sensed the fireball's power, it paused.
Its five tails lit up. Without hesitation, it crouched low and launched itself into the air.
"No!" Alice shouted, swinging her blade upward, but the beast was already gone.
The five-tailed Gorvak collided head-on with the fireball.
The sky erupted.
It was as if the heavens themselves had been split. The fireball detonated on impact, creating a blinding explosion that engulfed the entire sky in searing light. Shockwaves ripped through the battlefield. Buildings crumbled. Trees were uprooted. The ground itself trembled.
People in bunkers felt the rumble even underground. Dust fell from the ceilings, children screamed, and everyone stared at the monitors in horror and awe.
High above, Nate shielded his face, blinking through the light. His chest rose and fell heavily.
"Did it work?" he muttered.
He didn't have time to find out.
From the heart of the inferno, a black blur emerged, faster than the eye could track. It was the five-tailed Gorvak—burned, cracked, but alive. And it was furious.
It roared as it rocketed toward Nate, trailing embers behind it. The sheer force of its movement split the clouds. The air cracked like thunder as it punched forward.
Nate barely had time to react. He crossed his arms to block, his body still weakened from the fireball attack. The Gorvak's fist collided with him.
CRACK!
The sound echoed across the battlefield.
Nate was launched backward, his body smashing through building after building, each one collapsing in on itself in a storm of rubble and glass. He vanished into the ruins, buried beneath smoke and debris.
Alice screamed his name and began to run.
The Gorvak landed hard, roaring in triumph, its tails swaying with deadly precision.
The smoke where Nate had fallen billowed for a moment—then silence.
The battlefield froze.
Zoro floated in the sky, still untouched, watching with glowing red eyes. He folded his arms.
One of the Keepers began to step forward—but paused.
Because from within the wreckage…
Fire flickered.
Then it grew.
The ruins exploded outward as a fiery pillar shot to the sky. Flames danced like wings around a figure rising from the debris, his clothes tattered, skin bruised, but his eyes burning brighter than ever.
Nate.
He wiped blood from the corner of his mouth. "Alright," he muttered, voice low. "Now I'm mad."
The five-tailed Govark landed on the shattered street with a quake that split the ground like an earthquake. The air warped around its body as it slowly rose from its crouch, its five tails flaring like banners of raw destruction. Smoke rolled from its massive shoulders, and a green aura pulsed through its veins. Every step it took cracked the earth beneath, and its gaze never left Nate.
Fire danced around Nate, and the heat in the air spiked instantly. As if responding to his will, flames burst from his back and spread wide—forming massive wings of blazing fire. They flapped once, and the force flattened nearby debris.
The Govark roared.
Nate launched forward.
Their fists met midair, creating a shockwave so massive that it flipped vehicles miles away and shattered windows. The force pushed both of them back, but Nate recovered first. He twisted, fire wings slicing through the air, and spun into a flaming kick that sent the Govark flying through three buildings.
Before it could land, Nate exploded after it.
He reached the Govark mid-air and slammed both palms into its chest, releasing a concentrated fireblast that sent the beast crashing into the ground, forming a crater several stories deeply.
The moment the dust rose, the Govark growled.
Its body pulsed. Then changed.
Suddenly, its skin shifted colors as a layer of ice spread across it. The earth trembled beneath it again as the Govark raised its hand, and a massive blizzard erupted from its palm. Everything in front of it turned to frost and shattered like glass.
"What in God's name is going on, it can use ice now?" Alice, Madison and everybody was stunned.
Nate crossed his arms, fire swirling in front of him like a barrier, but the ice still pushed him back. As his feet skidded across the frost-covered ground, he gritted his teeth and released a burst of heat that melted everything around him in a second.
Then, lightning.
The Govark opened its mouth and a lightning beam shot out—crackling like thunder incarnate.
Nate barely dodged. It sliced through an entire city block behind him, blowing buildings apart in a chain reaction of explosions.
He dove low, then shot upward with a fiery uppercut. His fist connected with the Govark's chin, and the beast stumbled, stunned—but not hurt.
Not enough.
Nate landed and roared as flames coiled around his body. His entire form became fire. He rushed forward, striking faster, harder, each punch bursting with infernal fury. One after another, his fists found flesh, but the Govark wasn't falling. It absorbed damage like it was built for war.
Then the Govark moved.
One tail struck the ground—and the entire battlefield trembled. Mountains in the distance crumbled. The air collapsed with pressure.
Another tail summoned a wave of molten rock from beneath the earth, lava spilling toward Nate with murderous intent.
He leapt high into the air, wings blazing, and dove straight through the lava like a meteor, fire against fire. He burst out the other side and delivered a massive punch into the Govark's face—but this time, the Govark grabbed him.
Midair.
The beast slammed him into the earth—once, twice, thrice. Each slam leveled a city block. Then it threw him upward, and opened its mouth.
A black beam formed.
Shadow element.
It shot the beam.
Nate vanished just before it hit.
He reappeared above the Govark, wings spread wide, fire forming a blazing sword in his hands. He plunged it straight into the Govark's shoulder.
The scream that followed cracked the sky.
The Govark grabbed Nate by the throat, but he melted into fire and reformed beside it, slashing again. This time, the blade cut deep into its tail. One of them.
It spun and whipped a tail, sending Nate flying into the sky.
But Nate wasn't done.
In midair, he raised both hands and formed a fireball so massive it could rival the sun. It pulsed, alive, as he shouted and hurled it toward the Govark. The ball screamed through the air, shaking everything. The skies darkened.
The Govark raised all five tails to block.
The moment the fireball hit, everything turned white.
A massive explosion followed. It reached the heavens.
When the smoke cleared, the Govark still stood—but one tail was burned to ashes.
It screamed in rage.
It charged Nate, cloaked now in wind. It created tornadoes as it moved, ripping through buildings and forests.
Nate dodged one, two, three strikes. The fourth hit him in the chest and sent him tumbling across the battlefield, skipping across the ground like a stone on water.
He crashed, coughed, then stood again.
He couldn't afford to fall now.
Elena's boost was still active.
He pulled deep from within.
The fire wings behind him expanded into six.
His eyes glowed gold.
He burst forward, zigzagging through space, teleporting mid-combat by riding his flames.
Punch to the ribs.
Kick to the spine.
Knee to the chin.
Then he opened his arms wide—and summoned dozens of fire lances around the Govark.
They shot in.
Each one hit with the force of a missile. The Govark howled as it was peppered by fire from every direction. It retaliated with a burst of energy, but Nate vanished above it again—slamming down with a fiery crash that flattened everything.
The Govark twitched, now breathing hard.
Nate landed beside it.
They looked at each other—warriors, gods of flame and destruction.
Then they moved.
Fists collided. Fire and wind. Ice and earth. Shadow and light. Every element, every force, every power clashed in a war that no normal being could survive.
But in the end, Nate stood over the Govark.
His body smoked. His breath ragged.
But the Govark…
It finally dropped.
Defeated.
The battlefield fell silent.
Then the skies split open.
Zoro was coming.
What do you think?
