My Werewolf System

Chapter 1298: Not My Blood

The hunters still hadn't listened to Austin's call. Even though they knew what Austin was, even though they could see he was one of the Altered they hunted this entire time, there was a consciousness in their body that was telling them that they shouldn't leave.

The enemy Lupus had already killed two of the hunters, and now the only person standing in his way between him and them was Austin. Still, due to the sheer powers that were happening, the strength being on display, they didn't think they could help much.

Yet, they felt like they had to be there to at least witness it all. They had been standing there so long that they hadn't even noticed the sun that was starting to rise.

No one did, no one thought about the consequences of the people finding out who they were; they were just watching the one that was fighting for them. Now they had seen it though, a great effort, a powerful charge, and the transformation of Lupus.

It was surprising to the hunters because Lupus was the head of the group; they thought that his transformation might look different to others. Instead, he looked more plain. He had grown in size, so his muscular structure looked more impressive than other Werewolves or wolf-type Altered they had seen.

Yet, he just looked like an ordinary black-furred wolf, apart from the ferocious red glowing eyes.

"Hey, should we go help him out?" One of the hunters asked.

"We won't even be able to reach him in time; he's all the way on the other side."

"But if we do nothing, then

Lupus looked down at Austin, who was still trying to push with his legs. They were slipping as it broke the concrete flooring. Then he used both of his hands and held onto the horns that had dug into part of his chest.

Slowly, pushing against Austin, Lupus just pulled them out and pulled Austin away.

'He's so powerful!' Austin thought. 'I thought the strongest Altered I had come across so far was Apollo…but he wouldn't have been able to deal with this…and now…and now…what do I do!'

Austin had used his dimensional charge. He had already used it three times, and it was his limit for now. Even if he tried to produce the sparks, they wouldn't work.

When using the dimensional charge, he did have a thought, an option he could have done in the final moment. Maybe he could have ran away. Opened up a portal off in the distance away from Lupus.

If he had done that and was running at his top speed, would even Lupus be able to catch up to him? It was unlikely.

In that moment, he had one of two choices: to do everything he could in an attack or escape, but Austin had made his choice, and now this was the result.

With the frustration growing in him, he desperately lifted his fist and started to punch at Lupus's arm. Even with the great power Austin had, they seemed to have no effect, so instead, he grabbed around the thick forearms of Lupus.

He grabbed them tight, trying to pull them away, but he was still unable to do anything.

"Fighting until the end, I really like that; you would be a good one for the pack, unfortunately, I think you will be more beneficial to me as a meal!"

Lupus then lifted both of his arms up and had lifted Austin into the air by the horns. Now Austin was lifted to the point where he was vertical in the air and was looking straight into Lupus's face.

He could finally see his enemy transformed in front of him.

"The only thing I wish I could stay for…is to see Gary beat your arse!" Austin shouted.

At the same time, Lupus swung down as hard as he could and slammed Austin onto the ground. Large cracks formed in the entire car park, covering the entire area.

Even where the hunters were, cracks had formed all the way to their point, and they all fell to the ground as they felt like they were experiencing a violent earthquake.

When they finally were able to get up, they looked ahead and could see red; it was blood, but the blood although they could see it was on Lupus, it hadn't come from Lupus.

In Lupus's hands, they could see two large horns that had broken in half; they had snapped and broke. Lifting them up, even Lupus seemed to be confused by what had happened.

"Will you look at that, you're still breathing, that's good because I didn't like what you said before…what was that, did you mention Gary?" Lupus asked as he chucked the two horns off to the ground.

"I was wondering, how the Altered hunters of the settlement had managed to track down such a powerful Altered, but now I hear you say his name, I guess you're with him, right? I knew he was here, and I guess he didn't come alone….but if you're with him, and you're with the Altered hunters controlled by them.

"Did you F*ckers make some type of deal? Now that's got me in a bad mood." Lupus looked at Austin and grabbed onto the remainder of the horns that was by his head.

He then put his foot down right on his shoulder, and in one motion, he pulled, and the horns were torn right from Austin's head. They were in the air, the ends bloody, as if Lupus had just achieved a trophy from his victory.

"This will be a nice gift for him, won't it?" Lupus said.
