Chen Cheng groggily opened his eyes, only to find Wen Shulin already gone from his side, leaving behind only a still-warm quilt.
He got out of bed and felt the coolness of early autumn sweeping in.
From the kitchen wafted the aroma of bacon and the scent of coffee; Chen Cheng walked over to see Wen Shulin, wearing an apron, skillfully flipping the bacon in the pan.
Chen Cheng gently embraced her from behind, his chin resting on her shoulder, “You’re up so early?”
Wen Shulin pressed her face against Chen Cheng’s, “I wanted to make you breakfast.”
She turned around in Chen Cheng’s arms, “Did you sleep well last night?”
“With Chairman Wen’s personal sleep-comfort service, of course I did.”
“Your mouth is sweet again.” Wen Shulin laughed teasingly, “Go wash up, the food will be ready soon.”
Chen Cheng then let go and headed to the bathroom.
Brand new toothbrushes, towels, and a mouthwash cup were neatly arranged, only it wasn’t like Mei Xiang to have the toothpaste all squeezed out ready.
This might just be what sets her apart from others.
