Chapter 494: Chapter 495: The Encounter of the Two Despicable Dragons
Lide couldn’t uncover any more secrets from the Black Dragon, and after several failed attempts to remove the Twelve Magic Scrolls from its head, he didn’t linger much longer.
He gave up on continuing the pointless conversation with the Black Dragon.
There was still a golden thigh in Dawn City; when he returned, he’d ask Kacharina if the half-mermaid beauty knew anything about the past of the Twelve Magic Scrolls.
The fact that they sealed the power of Hell and could turn someone who hadn’t even stepped into the Legendary realm into a level 32 Divine Monster made it an interest definitely worth his attention.
“Black Dragon, if you don’t want to be imprisoned by me for all eternity and displayed like a common beast by those races you consider lowly, then spit out your true intentions sooner rather than later!
As the envoy of the Lord of Nine Prisons, I shall not tolerate outsiders coveting the power of Hell!”
Though Lide didn’t get much out of the dragon, he still left with these righteous words before turning around and departing.
The supreme art of war is to subdue the enemy without fighting, and words cost nothing; who knows if one day, one of these words might change the dragon’s mind.
The Black Dragon glared at Lide with hatred, completely ignoring him.
Long after Lide had left, the Black Dragon, still raging and cursing, suddenly stiffened. A red light flashed over the scrolls in its mind, and an image of a flame-shaped figure appeared in its amber dragon eyes.
The Black Dragon’s demeanor changed in an instant, and its previously weak body stood up. It turned its head alertly to scan its surroundings then shook its head after feeling around briefly.
It inexplicably uttered a segment of extremely malevolent Hell Profanity.
“What a fool, to be imprisoned despite possessing such formidable power… Hmph.”
With a cold snort, the Purgatory Scroll that was originally connected with the dragon’s soul in its head trembled, severing the connection; however, seemingly out of some concern, it did not leave the Black Dragon’s head.
After completing these actions, the red flame-like figure in the dragon’s eyes vanished, and the giant dragon body once again lay weak and powerless on the ground.
After a moment, the Black Dragon looked somewhat bewildered, sneezing out a puff of white mist, apparently unaware of what had just transpired, still grumbling indignantly.
“Damn vermin, offending the great Black Dragon Sovereign you all…”
The angry draconic language abruptly stopped mid-sentence, replaced by sheer terror.
“No, this can’t be, how could the Purgatory Scroll I fused with my soul suddenly disconnect…”
Immediately full of panic, it clamped its mouth shut and quickly closed its eyes, trying to re-infuse its soul with the Divine Artifact that granted it endless power.

Lide returned to the main hall where everyone was waiting for him.
“Kachar Main God, did you find anything?”
What do you think?
