Chapter 852: Who’s got so much time?

There were many groups that arrived after Wu Long’s group had passed through the outer passages of the Ancient Ruin, but the furthest they could get to is the chamber where Wu Long did a service for the betterment of society out of the generosity and goodness of his heart.

Past that chamber the formations were still intact and no one could pass through, no matter what methods they tried, including the obvious brute force breakthrough.

By now most have given up, but there were a few persistent ones who returned on the 6th day and waited long into the night to see if they could still get anything by ambushing someone coming out.

Wu Long didn’t feel like dealing with them now, as he would be fighting with them over the final treasure anyway, so they waited for the ‘noon’ of the 7th day when it would be time to move, consolidating their gains in the meantime.

After all, let alone Wu Long, Cai Yin, Gong Liwei and Hong Yue who had all made their own progress in this chamber, even Helian Muyang had to meditate in order to prepare to pass his Heavenly Tribulation, since as far as he knew, he would still be facing a dire trial, which he was unlikely to pass no matter how he looked at it.

The hall they were in started visibly deteriorating as they waited for the time to go out though, as cracks began appearing in the stone, and small pieces began falling off of the ceiling. The monument on the Throne of the Taker already lost all the characters and patterns engraved on it, and from the deep cracks appearing in it, looked like it was going to fall over.

“Is it because you took away the knowledge?”, Gong Liwei asked, looking around, as they were already preparing to go out.

“Yes,”, Wu Long nodded, “This place stood an unthinkable amount of time, intact only because of the ancient symbols, which are actually called Sun Symbols. The reason they were circulating through the bottom of the pools into the back of those two side walls and then coming back through the statues is because they were constantly powering all of the formations. Now all the formations which kept this place going are failing one by one”

“T-They could perpetually power it all?”, Gong Liwei asked in shock.

He nodded with a smile, understanding the astonishment, starting off his explanation with a small precursory note, “As far as I can understand, a piece of the two suns separated during a solar flare, and fell onto the Emerald Falls Continent, possibly even in Prehistoric Era”

He then continued, “That ‘molten shard’ – if you will – of the sun, formed a mountain, which was carved clean off, the top half refined to make these Sun Symbols, while its base still embedded in the ground is now what is called the One Sun Stone which opens this Sun Shadow Secret Realm. So the symbols and the platform still hold a connection to the sun that birthed them, and thus able to harness its energy”
