Chapter 723: Must Leave Immediately

Sand Land Dragon seemed to sense something. The endless yellow sand swirled like it was stirred by a hurricane, gathering and rapidly sweeping toward Little Treasure.

But just as the yellow storm was about to touch Little Treasure-

Little Treasure vanished on the spot.

Along with Qiao Sang, Yabao, and Lubao.

All movement ceased, and silence returned.

“He-he.”

About two seconds later, the Araknis King looked at Sand Land Dragoon and let out a call, indicating the prey had vanished.

“Sand Land!”

Sand Land Dragon let out a furious roar.

“Bashi…”

High up, at the top of a towering tree, the Bashi Ball looked at the now-clear world, finally recognized its direction, and floated away.

The moment it started to move, the leaves rustled.

“He-he.”

The Araknis King heard the noise and slowly turned its gaze.

The path beneath their feet branched in all directions, intertwining.

The layers of canopy rustled softly in the night breeze.

Seeing the surroundings completely different from before and with no sign of Sand Land Dragon or the Araknis King, Qiao Sang let out a long breath, finally relaxing the tension that had gripped her for so long.

Finally, they were safe…

“Xun Xun!”

Just then, Little Treasure's excited voice rang out.

Qiao Sang turned toward the voice and saw Little Treasure floating around Lubao.

Ice Aipalu… Qiao Sang silently repeated the current form’s name in her heart.

Her excitement slightly faded as she recalled Dr. Jiang had said Ice Aipalu was the most sensitive in the entire evolution chain, any misstep could easily destroy the trust that had been built.

Lubao had already been that sensitive before. If she became even more so… Qiao Sang couldn't quite imagine it.

“Lu Ai.”

As the thought flashed by, Lubao showed a smiling expression.

Everyone’s okay, what a relief.

Looking at Lubao’s expression, Qiao Sang froze. One thought popped into her mind: What the hell, Lubao is smiling?!

“Yap Yap…”

While Qiao Sang was still stunned, Yabao let out a weak cry.

He meant something was wrong.

Without hesitation, the gem on Lubao’s forehead emitted a blue light, shining onto Yabao.

Qiao Sang noticed, Lubao had changed.

And the change was obvious.

If Lubao used to be the tsundere type, that trait now seemed far less noticeable. Her whole aura had become calm, as if she now had a firm goal and wouldn’t be easily swayed. She was nothing like what Dr. Jiang had described.

“Yap Yap!”

Soon, the injuries on Yabao disappeared, and he recovered his energy.

“Lubao, congrats on evolving.” Qiao Sang said with a smile.

“Lu Ai.” Lubao smiled again.

“Xun Xun…”

Little Treasure floated around Lubao for a bit, showing an envious expression.

Why does everyone change so much after evolving…

It was almost dawn, better regroup quickly… Qiao Sang suppressed her urge to check the Beast Codex and pulled out the locator device Charles had given her, handing it to Little Treasure.

“Look here, this green dot. Try to lock on and teleport us straight there.”

Charles’ device could show each other's locations.

“Xun Xun!”

Little Treasure took the device seriously. His eyes glowed blue as a 3D map of most of the Baizhi Mountains appeared in his mind, attempting to align with the green dot.

Normally, Lubao would’ve shrunk herself and jumped into the backpack, but this time she didn’t.

“Lubao, not shrinking down?” Qiao Sang asked.

“Lu Ai.” Lubao shook her head.

It meant she liked her current form.

She just evolved, of course she should enjoy the change… Qiao Sang had just thought this,

The next second, everything went black.

“Bashi Ball isn’t back yet. Could something have happened?” Charles asked with a hint of concern.

“No.” Caro replied.

“I can sense it. It’s not injured.”

“But it’s been gone quite a while now.” Charles checked his watch.

“Want me to summon it back now?” Caro suggested tentatively.

Charles thought for a moment.

“Let’s wait a bit longer.”

“BASHI!!!”

Just then, the Bashi Ball’s frightened voice rang out nearby.

Followed by vibrations from the ground-

As if some massive creature was approaching.

Charles and Caro exchanged a grim look.

“It couldn’t be…” Charles was about to guess, when suddenly, three familiar figures appeared in the clearing, along with a pet they had never seen before.

Both were briefly stunned, then joy lit up their faces.

Little Treasure had teleported four times to get here. Seeing Charles and Caro, Qiao Sang smiled: “Finally found you guys. Let me tell you-”

“BASHI!!!”

The Bashi Ball’s scream cut her off, followed by the unmistakable vibration in the earth.

Qiao Sang turned toward the sound.

And saw a miniaturized Bashi Ball, and…!!!

Her mind was filled with exclamation marks as she saw the giant beast following behind it.

Charles and Caro looked in the same direction, pupils contracting as they exclaimed: “Araknis King?!”

“Bashi!”

The Bashi Ball cried, tears and snot flying as it ran full speed.

Behind it, the Araknis King looked as leisurely as if it were strolling, but it was still slowly closing the distance.

Then Qiao Sang shouted: “Quick, recall Bashi Ball!”

Even though she didn’t know whose pet it was, the mini size bracelet on it and the fact that it was fleeing in their direction made it easy to guess.

Caro quickly waved her hand and recalled Bashi Ball.

“Little Treasure!” Qiao Sang shouted.

“Xun Xun!”

Understanding her intent, Little Treasure's eyes glowed blue again, and they all vanished on the spot.

“He he.”

The Araknis King stopped and showed a regretful expression.

The group reappeared by a river.

“Qiao Sang, thank goodness you made it.” Caro said sincerely after scanning the area.

Charles relaxed and looked at her with a smile.

“Nice reflexes.”

That was all thanks to recent training… Qiao Sang sighed inwardly and smiled calmly.

“It was nothing.”

Now that they were safe, everyone relaxed a bit.

The first thing Charles thought of was the unfamiliar pet beside Qiao Sang.

Before he could ask, Caro beat him to it: “Qiao Sang, this pet is?”

Qiao Sang followed her gaze and smiled. “Ice Aipalu. It’s the evolved form of Ice Xilu.”

Lubao said nothing, seemingly back to her aloof self.

“Ice Aipalu?” Charles blanked out for a second.

“Your Ice Xilu evolved?!” Caro couldn’t hide her shock.

To be fair, at Yulianton University, having pets evolve into General-level was not unusual.

They were all top peers, and their contracted beasts had great potential. Evolution to General-level was only a matter of time.

But Qiao Sang was just a freshman, and she already had two General-level pets.

They had only been apart for a few hours that night, and her Ice Xilu already evolved?

So now she had three General-level pets?!

Caro looked at Fire Qilu, Ghost Ring King, and Ice Aipalu, utterly dazed.

I get it, really. Honestly, even I was surprised by Lubao’s evolution… Qiao Sang thought, giving a simple “mm” in response.

Charles came to his senses and asked, with a very complex expression: “Can you tell us what just happened?”

Qiao Sang nodded, preparing to keep it brief: “After I found Lubao…”

She paused as something came to mind, and skipped the part where she was frozen: “I saw a group of Stealth Hunter Spiders…”

As Qiao Sang went on, Charles and Caro’s faces shifted from shock, to disbelief, to “oh my god,” and “how dangerous!”

Once she finished the summary, Charles said gravely: “We must leave the Baizhi Mountains immediately!”
