Chapter 34 - 34 032 Backlash
Chapter 34: Chapter 032: Backlash Chapter 34: Chapter 032: Backlash Fred Foster and the others were ultimately forced to retreat.
There were people guarding all around, and they didn’t even have a chance to get close.
Fred’s body hadn’t completely recovered, and Yvette Foster was genuinely worried that something might happen to him.
“Dad, the children are here, let’s go back.”
Yvette’s words reminded Fred of the safety of their children.
The Divinity Temple was indeed important.
But the children’s lives were even more important, and Fred knew how to make the right choice.
“Let’s go.”
With Fred’s agreement, Yvette quickly helped him up and walked towards the Foster Family residence.
*
Divinity Temple.
Those intruders were quite skilled.
Although they were in a disadvantaged position during the skirmish, they managed to make the Stephens Family and Fisher Family suffer significant losses.
Jeremy Jennings’s eyes turned cold, and he silently moved to the front.
Seeing Jeremy taking action, some people backed off.
Zachary Fisher signaled Filbert Fisher to watch carefully.
It wasn’t often they had the chance to witness such a scene.
It was the first time Filbert had seen Jeremy in action.
Jeremy was ruthless and quickly took care of the intruders in no time.
With his strength retracted, Jeremy stood coldly at the forefront.
Everyone’s eyes on Jeremy had changed somewhat.
“We, the Stephens Family, will take these people with us to interrogate them.
Mr.
Fisher, you have no objections, right?”
“I have no objections, but I hope the Stephens Family will share the results with us in the future.”
“Regarding this, our family leader will contact the Fisher Family Patriarch.”
Zachary Fisher cursed under his breath, thinking of the cunning fox.
*
“Cousin, weren’t we going out to buy vegetables?”
Why were they heading towards the direction of the Divinity Temple?
After sending Fred back, Chloe Stephens took the opportunity to go out with Hans Foster.
Yvette wouldn’t feel at ease if Chloe went out alone, so Hans was pulled along.
“Looking for wild vegetables.”
“…”
He had already looked around, and there were no wild vegetables to pick nearby.
“You go that way, and I’ll go this way.”
Chloe pointed to a safe direction and chose to walk the other way.
“Cousin, wait…
”
Hans caught up, but Chloe had already disappeared.
*
“Meow.”
The cat’s feet gently stepped on the leaves, following Chloe as she bypassed the area towards the Divinity Temple.
The bodyguards in suits and leather shoes guarding that direction heard the noise and turned their heads to look.
For a moment, their eyes went blurry.
A black cat pounced on them.
Immediately after, another figure appeared as fast as light.
“Who are you…”
The bodyguard’s voice barely fell when two slim pristine hands twisted his head.
With a “snap” sound, the bodyguard fell limp to the ground.
The others stared wide-eyed in shock.
The young girl turned around, her cold eyes and brows seemingly frosted.
Her skin, under the light, emitted a cold glow.
The black cat tore one person’s throat, leisurely walking to the girl’s feet and turning around to stare at the others while licking the blood from the corner of its mouth.
This eerie scene was hair-raising.
The several bodyguards exchanged glances, huddling together and alertly keeping their eyes on Chloe, who had suddenly appeared.
“Who are you?”
The bodyguard swallowed nervously and asked again.
Chloe’s voice was devoid of any emotion as she said, “You have entered my Divinity Temple.”
The bodyguard’s brows furrowed.
Due to their companion being killed so easily, they still harbored anger in their hearts.
Hearing Chloe’s words, they were stunned.
“That’s not your Divinity Temple.
That’s the Divinity Temple that several major families have searched for years.”
“Why are the several major families searching for the Divinity Temple?
I have already come out.
Only an underground dark energy is inside.
Without me, ancient martial artists entering will only be met with backlash.”
Hearing Chloe’s words, the group couldn’t help but stiffen.
What did she mean?
Was she living in the Divinity Temple?
“Who are you exactly?
Are you also an ancient martial artist?” The bodyguard shouted loudly.
“Clear out the people.”
Chloe lifted her foot and kicked the black cat beside her.
“Meow.”
The fierce black cat suddenly pounced at several secret protectors.
They raised their hands to block, but the black cat passed directly through their bodies and disappeared into a wisp of black smoke.
*
Chloe Stephens took a few steps forward.
The secret protectors found it difficult to breathe under the pressure of the girl and their bodies trembled uncontrollably.
This completely uncontrollable behavior made them feel unprecedented fear!
The figure moved around the guards like a ghost, and within two seconds, the sound of guns being crushed could be heard, and a bullet was caught between the fingers.
The girl’s slender figure moved forward and she flicked her hand back.
The bullet flew out from between her fingers.
The secret protectors suddenly stiffened up.
The bullet changed direction several times in the air.
Instantly piercing through their heads, blood splattered in the air.
The girl didn’t look back as she walked into the woods.
*
The gate of the ancestral temple opened.
Inside, it was pitch black.
No incense, no lamps.
A damp, cold air rushed up from below.
It felt extremely uncomfortable.
Jeremy Jennings and Zachary Fisher couldn’t wait to enter.
Both of them worried that the other would get the best items before they did.
Filbert Fisher was left outside.
As soon as the people entered, they looked up and saw a cat with black mist standing silently on the black jade stone tablet.
Its eyes were one black and one purple, extremely eerie.
“Meow.”
The low and hoarse sound was like a scream, piercing into their eardrums.
Zachary Fisher narrowed his black eyes: “It’s a spiritual cat!”
Jeremy Jennings’ eyes flashed, and he dashed forward.
“Meow.”
The black cat paced back and forth on the black jade stone tablet, suddenly puffing out its fur.
The little black cat slowly arched its back, and as the black mist accumulated around it, its body began to undergo a huge transformation, turning into a ferocious black cat three times the size of a person.
Just as they thought the strangely enlarging black cat would pounce on them, it suddenly jumped up and dove into the ground.
The huge cat disappeared in front of their eyes.
Jeremy Jennings and Zachary Fisher grasped at nothing.
Both of them stopped in front of the black jade stone tablet, and when they thought of the scene just now, they felt goosebumps, their hearts pounding in fear.
“Oomph!”
Centered around the black jade stone tablet, a pressing force surged towards them.
The two closest to it took the brunt of the impact.
“Boom, boom, boom, boom!”
Those who entered together were all flung out of the temple.
They crashed into the extremely tall trees around the ancestral temple, shaking the trees violently.
Jeremy Jennings and Zachary Fisher felt as if their internal organs had been shattered, and they struggled to get up several times but failed.
“Dad.”
Filbert Fisher ran up and tried to help Zachary Fisher.
Zachary Fisher’s face was filled with pain, and he struggled to raise his hand, signaling for his son not to touch him.
The lingering effect continued to disturb his internal organs.
“Dad, what’s going on?”
Seeing his strong father in this state for the first time, Filbert Fisher was a little anxious.
“Cough, cough, cough…” Zachary Fisher coughed violently, spitting out the blood from his internal organs.
It was needless to say that the others who were thrown out lost consciousness on the spot.
Zachary Fisher tried to use his inner power to suppress the turbulence within his body, but found that he couldn’t muster any strength at all.
He became somewhat panicked.
*
“Is it your Stephens Family and Fisher Family’s purpose to come to Mountain County and destroy ancient cultural relics?” A voice came from the entrance of the path.
Both the Stephens Family and the Fisher Family were startled at the same time.
They looked up.
They saw a team coming towards them.
Unable to move, Zachary Fisher let Filbert Fisher take charge.
His handsome face darkened as he stood forward and stared coldly at Len Hawthorne in the lead.
“Who are you people?
Don’t you know that the Stephens Family and Fisher Family are working here?
Leave now.”
Len Hawthorne clicked his tongue and looked at Ethan Coates.
Ethan Coates stepped forward and tugged at his camouflage outfit.
“Kid, didn’t you see my bro’s outfit?
Are you blind?”
Filbert Fisher, one of the most outstanding youngsters of the three major families in Sheffield, was normally accustomed to being the center of attention, so he felt quite unhappy with Ethan’s attitude.
What do you think?
